Destruction Talent Tree Feedback

Hi ! I open this topic because after playing and experimenting many builds as destro warlock, I’m feeling like there are many problems in the spec talent tree.
I am very happy and excited to see these talent trees come back in the game and I want them to be efficient and funny.
I’ll only speak about the destruction spec tree but not the class one which has many problems too.

1/ Too much 2 points nodes in the middle of the tree :
I’m feeling like we have many interesting nodes but never enough points. And when we look the middle part of the spec tree (from 8 points to 20 points) more of the half of nodes are 2 points nodes (8 over 14).

So we lose many points in this part of the tree and we lose the opportunity to grab more spells and their passives nodes… and we all know that Destruction warlocks need to have more than 3 buttons to press…

2/ We need more synergies with spells :
I’m feeling like Shadowburn is so much weaker than it should be. Why cast this spell when the target has more than 20% life ? I prefer casting Chaosbolt with the “Eradication” debuff, the “Burn to Ashes” stacks and the “Madness of the Azj’Aqir” not limited at 2 charges. It’s actually just wasting 3 points (and 2 points more if reaching “Ruin”) to invest into this spell. I think so Shadowburn needs to be include in many other soulshards spenders talents.

Again, I think there are many interesting nodes buffing Immolate like : Roaring Blaze, Internal Combustion, Improved Immolate, Raging Demonfire, Cataclysm, Scalding Flames, Flashpoint… but they are very split and many of them cost 2 points…
More surprising, the Shadowlands conduit : “Combusting Engine” is missing in the tree whereas it has very good synergies with these talents points.
We could have a gameplay more interesting than just a gathering/spending soulshards…

Finally, I dare to put on the table the spell : Dimensional Rift. I was so excited to see it return in the talent tree but… it feels like it just be put somewhere in the tree to please players without spending time to create a interesting choice. Why does this spell is a capstone ? It has 0 synergy with our mechanics, passives or actives abilities… What’s about the Flame Rift artefact trait in legion ? Could it be a good relative node for it ? Could it generate soulshards while the rift is opened ?
Here, the work seems really unfinished…

3/ Still many bugs for retail…
I’m only playing in retail servers and I encounter 3 painfulls problems.
The first one is about “Grimoire of Sacrifice”. You can spend 1 point in the node to lose dps because it doestn’t trigger the “Grimoire of Synergy” of the classe tree. But in Shadowlands, the talent triggered the legendary effect so I think it’s a bug on retail.

Another problem is about the node “Raging Demonfire” that’s extends the Immolate duration. We actually can’t use Channel Demonfire during this extented time making a very disappointing feeling in game. I suppose it’s another bug because I don’t see why making us recast Immolate.

Finally, the last problem I encounter with these talents is about Mayhem. It’s a interesting passive Havoc node but it feel again unfinished for retail…
Why does it pull offcombat packs ? Why does it break CC ? It ruins the gaming experience with this talent.

What do you think about the tree ? Do we have the same feelings ?
Are these problems really bugs ?
Can a developer enlighten us on what will happen next ?

The Mayhem talent is rly bygged. Pulls packs of adds, that u arent even in combat with.
Not only that, but the range off witch it can pull from is crazy. Pliz fiks

So with the next reset Blizz will correct 2 bugs :

  • Fixed an issue where Mayhem would be applied to out of combat targets.
  • Fixed an issue where Channel Demonfire could not be cast if Immolate’s duration had been extended.

That’s good for us but I think they’re a lot of things to do to make Destruction warlocks funny in Dragonflight. For example :

  • Buffing Rain of Fire damages : This spell is a spender and deal ridiculous percent of our dps in heavy AOE MM+ keys even if we take all talents like madness, chaos incarnate, inferno…
  • Buffing Shadowburn damages and create more synergy with talents : This spell is a spender and deal ridiculous percent of our dps in MM+ keys even if we take all talents like madness, chaos incarnate, ruin, conflagration of chaos etc… About this last talent, maybe make conflagrate procs shadowburn buff and shadowburn procs conflagrate buff.
  • Reduce the number of 2 points talents in the middle of the tree : We have 9 over 14 talents that need 2 points… Comparing with other specs, it’s very frustrating and I have the feeling that we need points… Reduce the number of these 2 points nodes will give us more points in the middle of the tree.
  • Make Dimensional Rift a interesting Destruction spell (not only in pvp) : This spell could be very funny with some developement love… I think it just needs some synergy with the spec mechanics.
  • What’s about Grimoire of synergy and Grimoire of sacrifice ? Some job is needed here since the Dragonflight 's alpha and we’re on Retail with this issue…
