Destruction talent tree

Hello,

I’m opening this topic to talk about the Destruction talent tree.

It’s a shame that after almost a year, it’s hardly changed at all.

It suffers from numerous design problems:

  • Too many talents that cost 2 points making the path through the tree too restrictive and not very customizable. The specialization has on average 3 times more of these 2-point talents than the other specializations in the game, and this is strongly felt…

  • Talent balancing is absent. Inferno is so strong that it is indispensable in AOE. Soul Fire, Shadow Burn, Cataclysm and Dimensional Rift are spells that are never used in PVE. Reverse Entropy is an obligatory talent that brings no interest to gamplay.

  • Entire branches of the tree are abandoned or non-existent. The whole game under Summon Infernal is bad under all circumstances. A branch under Cataclysm/Inferno is missing, which could bring a little variety and interest to AOE gameplay.

Well, the developers seem to be interested in the Affliction (thank God) and Demonology (for what result…) specializations. Perhaps in 2030, we’ll have an interesting and fun Destruction tree?

Improved Conflagrate is also massively underpowered compared to Roaring Blaze.

Literally 100% of destro locks on subcreation use Roaring Blaze, both in raids and in m+. What, then, is the point of Improved Conflagrate? Intentional noob trap by Blizzard?

Yes, this talent is a joke…

We could also talk about Fire and Brimstone, which would be fun to play but is a nerfed version of Shadowland’s talent by almost 50% and requires 2 points. Thus, this talent is completely neglected…

What’s pathetic is that there have been no changes to this tree in 1 year, so it’s totally dysfunctional. There have been some internal adjustments to the few talents, but the problem lies with the structure of the tree and the paths.

Blizzard is satisfied that one path, dodging all active abilities (spells), allows you to do damage by abusing a few overpowered talents.

This talent tree has done nothing for Warlock Destruction since Shadowland, and we’ve lost out in terms of gameplay quality.
