It doesn’t. It’s about the Details! plugin, not the ElitismHelper addon. The plugin simply gathers data on how much avoidable damage has been taken, but does not report to chat unless you choose to do so yourself.
Since 10.1.5 it is not working anymore, so that’s why OP was asking about it.

I should check first, then post… it appears that it got fixed in a Details! update since the patch hit. You can simply select it via “Scripts” → “Avoidable Damage Taken” like you used to before the patch. If you had it bookmarked, you need to do so again.
I’ve never gotten flamed in M+ even when it was clearly my fault for bricking the key. I think people are just being paranoid.
And if people start pushing blame a few lines of chat won’t change that.
I don’t complain when someone points a mistake out. I get irritated when people start flaming or try to humiliate others.
Stuff like “omg it’s so easy are you retarded? it’s just a swirlie, u blind?!”
or just an addon that constantly and publically announces every mistake made, as if that’s somehow useful.
and meanwhile the reality was that it was complete armageddon and that swirlie was just one in a thousand events happening on the screen.
Pretty much the only place I’ve ever seen this is in 16-19’s. And even then I don’t see it a lot, but I do see it. I can’t recall the last time it was aimed at me though so there’s that.
It is nonsense to point out ‘failing’. People know they made a mistake and people only will get stressed and will ‘fail’ more. A big thing in playing M+ is staying positive. Mindset is half of the work.
I think more than anything it’s about identifying how you got into this situation in the first place and saying so thoughtfully - sharing it instead of trying to sound like nobody else knows anything, but you do.
If for example you were to take a moonkin, evoker, holy priest, and mage and then wonder why the interrupts are a bit on the small side after you pull 5 packs with 6 mobs capable of casting Molten Core and the group wipes… the problem was not poor interrupts. The problem was caused by you creating such a group and/or the tank. Best part is when those two are one and the same.
I have tried dying because literally the entire floor was covered in swirlies. There was nowhere to stand near me. I think this was 4 packs before the 3rd boss in that Ohn’aran dungeon, you know the one, pulled at the same time.
No it’s just a bad addon. Nobody, not a single role needs to spam constantly to make themselves feel better.
It is not hard to share that information at the end instead of spamming non stop through out a key. I honestly don’t care if they share an overall at the end, it’s not obtrusive. However it’s just pure out of context data. Sometimes you just have to run through some bad effects to get to something.
I have had some awful healers in some pug runs but I have never had a go at them. We just presume they are new or undergeared. You just don’t do another key with them. You can see what healing they are doing. You can see if your team mates are getting killed by stupid stuff they can avoid.
I just wish there was an addon that straight up blocked EH. So far ignore has been the only way. There was a weak aura that spammed the EH user on /w every time they spam chat but I’ve not tried it myself.
It’s like having someone in the dungeon with you endlessly spamming
I know when I’ve stood in something or got hit by something. Even with my regular friends group we mess up sometimes. Never have we blamed another player. Even when I messed up our first 20 BH because my Judgement decided to pull in extra mobs on the last boss. We meme about it ofc.
I think whispering someone every time they say a specific phrase would be considered harassment, which is very ironic.
But yes, it is possible to create such an addon.

arg2 is the author that sent it, so that’s the person we want to whisper with SendChatMessage.
arg4 is the channel. We want it to be “Party”.
I have never reported those using the addon for spamming, maybe I should.
I didn’t want to use a WA to spam them on whisper because like you say it’s intrusive and harassing.
I can’t make addons and despite seeing various topics on various mediums asking if there is an addon to do so I haven’t found anything so far. One suggestion was badboy but I could never get it to block just that.
I think the reason you haven’t found it is because most people know that it would be inappropriate (in that it resembles some sort of revenge I guess?) and that the people who are annoyed by that addon are generally far more respectful than those who use it.
I certainly understand the impulse though. I’d love to get back at them, too.
