Hello.
classic wotlk runing on patch 3.4.0 it is correct ?
Deterrence now work When activated, increases parry chance by 100%, reduces the chance ranged attacks will hit you by 100% and grants a 100% chance to deflect spells. While Deterrence is active, you cannot attack. Lasts 5 sec.
it is pretty …
Deterrence was changed on patch 3.2.0
Deterrence: This ability now allows the hunter to parry spells and attacks from behind as well as in front. Now has a new visual spell effect.
I want to ask if it will be work correctly in future or ???
Because i think if we have patch 3.4.0 deterrence must work like after patch 3.2.0
or we must wait for Call of the Crusade and after deterrence will be usefull ability ?
We’re on patch 3.3.5
I can’t say what’s accurate but the current behaviour feels right. Deterrence was reworked a few times, so it’s not surprising that it’s hard to nail exactly what it was like in each patch.
What exactly don’t you think is accurate about this current iteration?
EDIT*
patch notes history from wowpedia:
-
[Patch 3.3.0] (2009-12-08):** Now also increases the chance for ranged attacks to miss the hunter by 100% while under its effect.
-

Can you please describe the issue again?
ok if we have 3.3.5
deterrence must work like this
- [Patch 3.2.0] (2009-08-04):** This ability now allows the hunter to parry spells and attacks from behind as well as in front. Now has a new visual spell effect.
not like this useless …
- [Patch 3.0.8] (2009-01-20):** Design changed to grant 100% [parry] and 100% chance to “deflect” spells coming from the front, but prevents the Hunter from attacking. Lasts 5 sec. 60 sec. cooldown.
and question is when deterrence will be work correctly like after patch 3.2.0…
Just tested it in guild with one of my hunters.
It 100% works like 3.2 for melee.
Not tried the spells thought.
try hit him to back and you will see it dont work
I did hit him from back, 100% parry chance.
Explain EXACTLY the situation that’s making you think there’s a bug
exactly like hunter you can be hit with evrything from back from up like gargoyle …
it works only from the front today i play few arenas and i have deterrence warrior hit(parry) me from the front and shaman kill me from behind
So you’re aware that spells that finish casting BEFORE you use deterrence will still hit you?
So gargoyle casts the strike, or shaman casts lava burst, then you press deterrence. Those spells still hit you. That’s intended.
Warrior is vague though. i can think of 2 ways of mitigating deterrence as a warrior that aren’t bugs.
Dots and overpower ? I think OP is supposed to go through anything?
nope sir deterrence just work like on patch 3.0.8
you can got evry single spell /hit from behind like if you have deterrence rogue just shadow step and go through deterrence with evry hit evry ability stuns evrything he have
You’re wrong.
You don’t understand why you’re wrong, but you are.
You need to understand the difference between 100% parry and 100% immunity. There are MANY abilities in the game that cannot be parried. And also, if you are stunned, you cannot parry anything.
This isn’t a bug, you just don’t understand all of the PVP interactions.
Which honestly is normal - cause it’s not obvious or even written on the tooltip of abilities all the time.
i understand how work it sir again read this patch note
[Patch 3.2.0] (2009-08-04):** This ability now allows the hunter to parry spells and attacks from behind as well as in front. Now has a new visual spell effect.
No you don’t understand, let me explain this to you clearly:
- When the rogue shadowsteps to you, he uses “cheap shot”.
- Cheap Shot cannot be parried.
- Cheap shot stuns you
- You cannot parry while stunned
- While you are stunned by Cheap Shot, rogue does damage then “Kidney Shots” you.
- Kidney Shot stuns you more. You still can’t parry because you are still stunned.
i think cheap dont have any features like cannot be parried but that’s not important
because evry player can hit you from back evry attack evry spell when you have deterrence and dont have any cc it just work like 3.0.8 not like after 3.2.0 and again my question is when they rework it because we have latest patch than 3.2.0
You’re wrong. I’m done arguing.
Deterrence wont change because it’s working as intended. git gud.
Bro u’re hella wrong… Few abilities goes through deterrence, working as intended. CHEAP SHOT actually cannot be parried, same story with overpower and chaos bolt, lol.
it is rly interesting because today gargoyle shot me through deterrence rogue ambush me through deterrence priest fear me through deterrence i got shadowfurry through deterrence shaman hit me through deterrence with lava burst + chain and many many spell go through just today
Once u get stun deterrence “goes off”, u cannot parry when you’re stunned.
Ambush are piercing through deterrence. And if your slacker clicking deterrence by ur mouse it might be that some casts were casted before u used it, so it will land.
To sumarize, when rogue uses cheap shot on you, every single skill will hit.
Abilities that require stealth can’t be parried yeah.
