Development Preview: Cross-Faction Instances

Finally.
GGWP Billy the Gates.

I don’t know the real numbers but let’s say we have a Alliance to Horde ratio of 30 to 70 now. And because of this Alliance guilds, groups and raids struggle to find enough people.

Now we get this change which is supposed to help the Alliance. However, I already know many people saying they will create a Horde char now so they can still play with their Alliance buddies.

I not trying to be a party pooper but I expect a lot more of Alliance players to create Horde chars leading to an even worse imbalance at the end. Imo this will be the final nail in the Alliance population coffin. And you all were cheering for it.

Not a fan of cross-faction rbgs. Doesn’t make sense. Bgs and rbgs have always been about A vs H and it should stay that way.

You have alliance in horde bgs and hordes in alliance bgs since years at this point. It was common practice at the start of 9.0 alone to queue as alliance as a horde in epic BGs to get your hands on honour gear if your spec liked versa.

This is beautiful. A slight shame guilds won’t be included in the first iteration, but there is a 100% chance it’ll come later so it’s fine.

Can’t wait to raid with my friends, and being a Dwarf again. Thank you Blizzard.

I don’t understand what you’re talking about. The teams are composed of one faction in bgs/rbgs, and I’m just saying it should stay that way.

mixed BGs have been a thing since over 6 years.

Lol
And? Orc and nelf still don’t play together. Merc mode has the same effect as when I log in to my A char and play.

Horde and Alliance are tho. Can still keep your petty “uhh this has has to be transformed into race X” stuff or whatever you lot crave. If we go after lore then all BGs would have to be removed.

Here here, it is an annoying gimmick, I can see the purpose when in warmode, but not in PvE mode.

Alliance vs Alliance and Horde vs Horde is literally already a thing in rbgs.

That is more or less the way it is in most games now. In LOTRO which doesn’t have much of a group finder and is still on server alliances are doing the most raiding through their discords. I see nothing wrong with it, they are no different to a guild in most respects.

Also I’m delighted with this change, the more people you have access to, the more you can run stuff when you want to. I know back in WOD I was glad they didn’t have factions for arena or there wouldn’t have been many fights available given the strength of human racial back then.

Has been for years.

First the policy changes and now this.
I like it. Good changes.

Yeah, and you can also see who the mercenaries are in normal BGs if they use mercenary mode because their horde race shows on tooltip when you hover over them, lol.

Thanks Blizz for finally listening
this obviously is is not the complete way it should be implemented, since you will still have the problem with not being able to have cross faction guilds
if you allow cross faction guilds i see a bright future for this feature

Yeah that’s it, wow is over for me. At the start i supported Microsoft buying blizzard, but then they go and ruin the best game the studio ever made. Playing horde at anything above leveling is absolutely horrible, such a toxic experience. The communities are not the same. Now i can play every expansion to level all classes and then have to quit because there is nothing left. Endgame content is no longer an option, very sad

The what now?

The communities are the same. There’s really no difference in attitudes between doing anything on alliance and on horde, only a number difference in what’s available to do.
