I think it’s actively harmful to the continued improvement of the game. There’s a narrative the devs are trying to uphold at any cost. The most upvoted thread on the release of DF was how the “Disneyfication” was complete. Got 500+ upvotes in a few hours and was quickly deleted. Anything that doesn’t strictly align with the current cultural narrative of the game gets removed, instead of acknowledging and trying to work with what used to be the largest subset of the population that played WOW. It’s like the opposite of how to run a successful business.
Well you might be right but this expansion cost 50 euro and maybe Blizzard should have given a better impression then, but you realise I’m not alone in this matter, well I hope you realise that. I think part of why they didn’t release Dragonflight sales and why they put out so many discounts and deals to attract more players.
But I find it sad to see Warcraft like that, it didn’t feel Warcraft to me at all. Some of my old guild and friends are just telling me to ignore all the BS and come PvP, I do like the talents but it’ just feels like a humiliation ritual to level through those dumb quest to me lol.
Brother I’ve seen the same thread and I remember it got pruned aswell. I think that’s why I see the same people so much these days, the rest of them quit or got banned haha!
But WoW isn’t the only franchise doing this, just look at the recent witcher show, where the producers and writers even admit to hating the storyline and that they wanted to do their own thing.
Well if you can recognise that then surely it means it has jack to do with the lore.
Then you don’t need to say you respect the lore. Respect their business decision making if you will.
I can agree that Df might have sold poorly and that Blizzard are trying to mitigate it via marketing promotions. I cannot agree that DF is the reason for not selling well. A new expansions sales come mainly from the the players retained in the previous expansions. If Sl retained 1m players than DF will have at least 1m copies + the people that are returning (which will most likely be less than the retained players).
No believe me, a lot of old fans are angry and feel frustrated that Blizzard is too arrogant to isten to them.
You should see their ads they deleted that got posted here
some people think it’s tongue in cheek but to me it feels like they’re just making fun of criticism and thinking they know better.
I think maybe you’re a little too attached to it.
As I say, I’m a Vanilla born player with no problem with it. Maybe blame yourself before you criminalise what’s going on around you.
I cannot believe you because you have no actual data to support your claims. I am an old fan and I am pretty happy with the game right now.
No no no. Thats not how it works.
If you like WoW = blind fan boy, shill and etc.
If you hate WoW = Cool kids. The real fans.
Get with the forum etiquette Amonet!
No, I’m a rebel.
Do all those people that are sooooooooooooooo upset with the game, know they can just quit it? By what you are writing in those forums, you are sooooo unhappy with it that its destroying you.
You can just quit the game. No more torture.
Or is it that you dont want to quit? Or even cant?
two options:
→ play the game
→ quit the game
All this complaining [edited by Blizzard - no swearing, masked or otherwise please] but still playing is just dishonest
There are discords out there full with people writing their own lore because they’re fed up with WoW’s writing. They all have their channels and there is some kind of client where you can put in 3d textures yourself in Azeroth, so you can create your own Warcraft setting. It’s starting to become very popular.
Sure you might be one of the few old fans that are left, but you should see the vitriol that they have against Blizzard, and believe me, they’re angry but it means they still care. Yet Blizzard doesn’t bother to reach out and just does its own thing.
And there are discord servers out there full of people writing their own stories while liking the ones currently in game.
So what? Can you honestly tell me that you have personally counted these people and have in fact confirmed that they are the majority? And please don’t use the argument “But WotLk had 12m subs”. All those subs were lost due to countless reasons, some even not connected to the game itself but IRL.
i also think junkgnomes from bfa are not the mechagnomes from wolk. those are actually cool…
also vulpera and void elves are a mistake
horde could get ogres or moknathal and alliance could get high elves
alliance is played just because velves were introduced.
hee hee… seriously… this lizard as a tank? Same as void or blood elf, which are size of 2h sword. xD
not exactly this lizard
the draconid ones we can see in valdrakken as guards
they are buff and have big muscle and fit to be a ggiga chad tanks
It always has been
Tbh, I have no issue with any of those.
But we can’t create them…right?
It is quite literally THEIR game, IP, trademark… Everything.
Literally nothing here is ours aside from our time and effort.
You have a license to use their product, nothing more.
