DH as flag carrier

i remember hearing about blizz nerfing DH as an FC in battle grounds couple of years ago.
do you think they went to far?

i mean as soon as i pick the flag as havoc or even veng, it feels so slugish and hardly moving, compered to monk or druid.

could blizz revert some of the nerfs?

Feels about right to me. Certainly does not feel “sluggish” thats for sure. Havoc feels better than Vengeance tho for sure since I get the feeling you need to stop and fight more to keep yourself alive as Vengeance. Havoc feels nimble to me. I didnt play DH before the nerfs you are talking about tho.

Tank DH used to be REALLY fast, so it was super satisfying to play it as flag carrier. It was also hard to kill - perfect. Didn’t to much damage, but in right circumstances, you could even kill another player, and at least annoy them a heckuva lot with your great CC.

Now… Vengeance DEFINITELY feels sluggish, you can’t play tank mode and have fun simultaneously. It’s one or the other.

In my opinion - as a former DH tank lover, Vengeance is UNVIABLE, unplayable, weak, slow, dies easily, doesn’t do damage, and the CC is not what it used to be. They nerfed it to the GROUND (this should’ve been done to ROGUE, not tank DH of all things!)

Havoc doesn’t feel particularly fast, either, and has similar problems, but I agree that it feels better to play in all possible ways, it even feels faster (haven’t tested if it is or not, as I lost all interest in Vengeance since it feels completely choked and sluggish now).

I can realistically escape more as Havoc than Vengeance, which is ridiculous in itself.

Having said that… many BGs today, haven’t been able to escape at all. Used everything I had, a druid got me with 3 hits.

One time I only wanted to stun a paladin and then run away, but it took 70% of my HP and around 10 seconds to even be able to do THAT much (the paladin had about 50% HP) - and I was BARELY able to escape the paladin into my suicide in Eye of the Storm (jumped off edge, the only way to avoid being killed by the paladin).

Firemages … well, I don’t know how they can be so superfast, but I don’t even dare go near them anymore. They are SO fast, no DH can stand a chance even with full cooldowns and goblin glider to even dream of escaping a firemage.

It seems everything else has driven over DH… it’s not what it used to be. Huntars have bubble while running, rogues can stealth while running, mages can blink and ‘displace’ from very large distances, druids, monks, … is there realistically anything a DH can reliably escape? Maybe arcane mage?

Also, as a sidenote; people need to STOP this myth about DHs being OP. DH doesn’t have any ‘weird stuff’ like Warlocks that never die and self-heal, or DKs that pull and self-heal and never die, or rogues that CC you for 20 seconds while stabbing you and running all over the place in stealth, resetting fights, healing in stealth, etc… it can’t even triple-jump, like warrior.

It’s very rare for me to stunkill anything - by the time DH can start damaging something, it’s pretty much already out of stun (the rotation stuff used to be so smooth and everything was ‘always available’, but now you have to WAIT for things to become available, and it makes DH very weak on many ways).

Anyone telling you that DH is OP, must be reminiscing the early Legion era… DHs, unless super-geared, I am guessing, are weak in all possible areas.

Maybe with full cooldowns, a DH can be a bit powerful for a few seconds, but any other time, DH is weak in damaging, weak in escaping, weak in CC… how can anyone think DH is OP? It’s shocking the heck out of me to think people like that exist.

Play this thing and THEN come tell me it’s OP.

Dh is still best FC. A good tank dh cannot be touched in flag maps.
