Demon Hunter right now has one major flaw and that flaw is actually same for people playing the class and the ones that he plays against in PvP - Chaotic Disposition. The way this talent is designed is really… unique (in a bad way).
And just before someone will say that I’m trying to defend recent DH nerfs in PVP - well no. They are over represented and hard to counter especially at sub 2k, something needs to be done with them because to get 100k+ DPS in multi target PvP scenario you can just click randomly and you gonna make it
So Chaotic Disposition doesn’t make any sense, it is such stupid RNG mechanic that it should be removed altogether. Let’s assume that you can hit 150k Elysian Decree - with full proceed CD you can get it up to 450k. That’s just stupid. Of course the chance is close to impossible because as far i as understand each multiplier has chance of 7.77%. That’s kinda low for having full blast but possibility is always there.
But then again 3 times is already huge deal (17% 17% 17% so from 150k you get 240k) and that is possible. So let’s fast forward now few weeks, we will get one or two more nerfs in future (probably the typical - The Hunt, Elysian Decree, Chaos Break and its bonus) - why? Not because their core damage is such insane stuff (it is relatively fine to their cooldown and how easily each of them can be countered) but because they can literally vaporize someone by randomly applying RNG. DH will be getting nerfs whole season, as long as this horrible horrible mechanic will be there as there is always possibility to 180 whole game with one cooldown and vaporize someone.
Elysian Decree after nerf is actually quite close to Anguish if we are talking about dps (it serves other purposes of course but that’s not the point) but 1-2 more nerfs and it will be not worth to take it. Or at least you would think so - but no, due to idiotic mechanic of one horrible designed talent - you NEED to pick it because it can 180 whole game as you need that huge damage burst so it can scale with modifiers.
What about others things? Random proc of additional immortal aura - if you are lucky you can have like 5 of them and kill people by just standing next to them
Shattered soul? Again if lucky there we go
Throw Glaive bonus set - a chance to be triggered randomly
Can we at least get a class that do good damage but isn’t oriented about luck and horrible talent designs?
That one of the most fitting lore wise spells like Eye Beam isn’t interrupted the same second it is used because its dps output is horrible so you just click it to get Demon form?
That you have a modifier that you cannot even tell how much damage it dealt or does it even works.
Current Demon Hunter is OP and feels powerful but for all bad reasons.
ps. Writing this after 180 game with 350k crit. I was on ropes and opponent randomly vaporized in last effort try.
