Hello
Which of the three listed tanks will work best with a good paladin healer and 3 mixed dps (both specs and skill) in m+ going into season 4 15s and some heroic raiding.
So thinking that both dps and survivability is top priority to complete it on time, but i’ve been healer for the past decade so tanking is somewhat new ground for me. So Why is your choice good compared to the others?
Thanks for any help
If you consider yourself a decent player and you and your group are fairly competent all possible tanks are perfectly capable of easily doing +15s, so you should just pay the one you like the playstyle of the most. Though the Monk is prolly the best one for higher keys, Druid is prolly the easiest to play but kinda boring, DH is middle of the pack kinda thing.
Monk has stagger (which smoothes out damage intake), sweet mobility, ring of peace, leg sweep, paralyze. As a healer, monk tanks are one of my favourites.
(I also find it fun to tank with a monk, compared to druid and dh, but that’s just personal preference.)
Never tried monk tanking but have played monk quite a bit. Is it hard to get going and not dieing to much?
How would you rate the tanks in dps and survivability?
I just want to kick back and have some fun and both Vengeance and Guardian are fun to me, although i’ve never tanked in groups with them. So just going from a purely playstyle perspective
Of all the keys i’ve healed on druid and monk ( not THAT many ) it’s hit or miss to get it completed on time. Don’t know if it’s about to small pulls or to little dps.
But from your posts it seems that all three can pull big and survive while dealing enough damage to help ensure completion on time?
Monk tanks used to be the most complicating ones to play well, I’m not sure what the situation in BfA is right now though. Guadians and vengeance on the other hand have always been on the easier side. I believe that bad monks are like paper and good monks are like steel. There is (or at least used to be) a pretty big difference there. Like I said, I don’t know if it’s easier in BfA, but stagger is still their main mechanic.
Monk tanks are easy to play. Just have to keep up ironskin brew 100% when you are tanking. It shares charges with purify so the only difficulty would be not using up too many charges for purifying brew but being smart about it and just use it when stagger is big and you can spare a charge. Otherwise monk is very simple to play.
I would say from the 3 i prefer healing bm and then guardian simply because they dont spike like dh tanks and feel easier to heal.
As for tank dps uhm didnt really look how much my tank friend does on main and alts but he does very decent damage on all at least.
Overall though for casual use all are fine. They can all tank up to high keys.
