DH needs a buff in pve!

hey… atm the meta is huge aoe and use cd to kill big pulls… so mage, shaman, druid, hunter, warr and so on are always taken over dh… sadly all dh’s stuff is capped so no matter what every class is gonna out dps dh in big pulls… i done couple of keys this week where i been highest ilvl and highest rio… but still people said they only invited me for the dh buff… and let me tell you there is nothing more demotivating to play a game knowing you only get invited for a passive buff of ur character… not becouse ur good or high dps or anything… but a damn buff… my suggestion would be to uncap eyebeam or glaive tempest… both kinda low in dmg so there is no need for them to deal reduced dmg after 5 mobs… balance druid , fire mage, ele shaman doing damn 60k dps in big pulls when dh does what 20-30k and yea maybe it would be okay if dh then would be overpower in single target… but no… balance and them still out dps you on bosses aswell… please blizzard im tired of just being a buff :(…

I used to play outlaw last season, pretty high ranked . Zerrín - Silvermoon. I literally got invited for the CC and skips. My cleave was high and quite often I was the top dps, but that’s not why I was invited  be happy you’re pushing the keys and playing what you want :call_me_hand::call_me_hand:

I think DH is fine at the moment. I’m having 0 issues being top DPS in +15~16 keys atm and I don’t even have a single tier set bonus. Judging by the power gains of 4 set in M+ I think DH will be in a really good spot, especially as Venthyr. Was doing 23~24 last season and based on how east +15 keys got with double legendaries, I see no problem doing those again with DH.

Ya know mate, I meant last xpac lol! I haven’t done any m+ this season as I burnt out in BFA, just Incase you look at my rogue and are confused hahaha!! Believe I was top 500 or so rogues world, which isn’t too bad

Is the 4 set that huge? How many more metas will we gain? I only PvP now and not even that often. Just want the two set I think for that.

Shame they removed the dodge from blade dance, that made DH have some ‘skill’ to cheese mechanics in higher keys :frowning:

Generally speaking the estimation is 1 minute off the CD, but that’s in addition to whatever Urh is already doing. I’m not sure how it interacts with the Urh buff though. Sinful Brand on meta damage is huge. The first 3 packs + giant in Gambit easily got me over 40k dps, and I do 25k~35k dmg in bigger pulls without issues (CA legendary) with meta.

The only thing I wish they’d add is a 30% or 40% cycle of hatred proc on blade dance :frowning:

What’s Urh? :grimacing: I literally only PvP on this toon, last time I played pve was legion haha.

Bringing the CD down by a minute is pretty nice, would become incredibly strong in a pre made m+ group Id imagine? Or are others just pumping far too much out. One of the main things that made me drop m+ was the target cap rubbish!

Re the cycle, I’m sure I read somewhere about people not using crit anymore and going more haste again, which would effect that talent quite a lot, no? But as I say I don’t pve much so that’s just what I think I’ve read lol.

I’ve been playing my DH a lot over the last few days (raid and M+) and it seems pretty solid to me. I don’t know how NF is playing because I switched over to Venthyr for the interaction between the double legendaries, but we seem to have a nice selection of builds to choose from. I’ve played:

  • Nadjia with DGB, blind fury/COH talent build and chaos strike conduit for pure ST
  • Nadjia with same talents and conduits but CA legendary for raid bosses with adds
  • Draven with CA, felblade/first blood and blade dance conduit for AOE heavy keys
  • Draven with same legendary and conduits but blind fury/COH talent build for low trash density keys

I tried the Theotar triple potency conduit option, but Theotar doesn’t have much that interacts with our kit, unless you get lucky with the tea stat, and it felt kind of meh. The Draven option is getting mixed feedback, but it feels pretty strong to me - 5% main stat bonus and 1 - 3% damage increase based on number of targets. Playing the 4th build in Spires this evening, I out dpsed a very good shadow priest on Oryphrion, so he’s no slouch in pure ST either. Obviously Nadjia is very strong on pure ST, having been the go to build for that type of fight for a while.

Urh is the add from the seasonal affix that we aim to get on most pulls. It massively reduces CDs for a few seconds, enabling insane burst. During hero/BL, or if I can get a priest to PI me just as Urh dies, I get blade dance on the GCD until the buff ends.

I noticed you’re playing felblade with COH. How does that feel to play? I considered it for the Spires key we did this evening (I really miss felblade when I don’t have it), but I worried I might be fury starved and not be able to chaos strike enough to maintain sinful brand uptime.

I’m actually not, that’s just what I logged out with  My epic battlegrounds build is FB/DB/UC/CoH/UP/D with DGB. I play this as it’s kinda interesting and I don’t have to focus on pure 1v1 anyway. I’d switch to NF if it didn’t constantly mess up everything.

Based on the few boss kills in EBGs, yes you can’t keep brand up long enough, though with the conduit you somewhat mitigate that.

For M+ I’m basically playing the BF/IH/UC/CoH/D build with Nadjia, though I’ve had some interesting results with DGB instead of CA. I think I’ll be taking DGB on tyrannical, and CA on fortified weeks.

Illidari are strong with double leggo+4set.

Damn, that’s a shame (although what I expected). I think a more ST focused build will be a requirement in high tyrannical keys, especially when most of my friends play classes that are less strong in ST. Keeping brand up on those bosses won’t be optional. At least it’s variety, I suppose.

For Tyrannical I suspect that DBG will be sufficient as it amplifies your Annihilation casts, especially in combination with the set bonuses.
