DH new race plans?

Heyo!
Are there any plans or even a chance that any race would ever be able to roll as a DH in the future?

Probably never will be unless they retcon a lot of stuff.

Sad but true.

Um… lets see. So there are still demons about even if Sargaras is a pretty red star right now. We could go back to Argus and find the broken have captured demons and are torturing them and stealing their powers. Broken could be an ally alied race but a little less broken with the power of a demon soul.

Maybe after Legion some dhs retired as they had succeeded in there goal. Maybe outskirts of Suramar seemed nice. Maybe they went a bit crazy starts a cult, hunting for demons, recruiting nightbourne and getting them addicted to fel. Intro story is overthrowing the cult and a new bread of nightbourne dhs.

There’s 2.

I want to play this class so bad, but the belf thing totally kills it for me. Spiky Fel Orc Demon Hunter ftw.

They’d just need to say elf DHs have been raining other races.

I mean that’s how they did the new race/class combos in Cata.

this man talks the truth!

Why would there be new Demon Hunter Races? I have literally just come from the Death Knight forums talking about “more Death Knight races” which was equally as stupid. Actually, its greedy.

Both DHs and DKs are lore-based Hero classes - their creations are storied instances at a specific point in WoW’s timeline. Those playable DHs are created a specific time, actually perhaps before you begin playing, at a time when Illidan only had a cult of Elves with him. The only people he would trust.

After Legion, even the chance of more Elven DHs is gone because of Illidan’s new predicament.

Fantasy game in a fantasy world comes to mind.

A Fantasy World will still have to have a set of rules and logic to go by, or else it will lose all credibility.

The irony is that a Fantasy World is made or broken based on its plausibility. Even if that plausibility is based on Fantasy Logic. If a game doesn’t stand by it’s “natural laws”, rules and other logic then it just crumbles.

Therefore, with that said, I am pointing out with my previous question - why would there be new Demon Hunters when the creator of all Demon Hunters, Illidan, is now trapped with Sargaras and unable to make anymore?

Furthermore, you can’t make anymore Demon Hunters because all playable Demon Hunters were created at an exact point in time, showcased largely in the Demon Hunter opening areas - a storied section in time alongside the Horde/Alliance assualt on the Black Temple.

That can’t be changed because that is a very visible feature in the game - both the Demon Hunter starting area and the Black Temple. This was a time when Illidan had very few allies amoung the races of Azeroth, and his Demon Hunters were a cadre of Elves he had possibly even before joining with the Naga, Blood Elves and Broken.

Demon Hunters are special for a reason - Illidan only trusted elves.

There’s always a chance but it would require new special starting zone, maybe releted to Order Hall training more recruits.

A fantasy world doesn’t have to go by logic, the point of fantasy is to distort real life logic and excite and expand our imagination. The world can and should evolve and change rules as time goes by otherwise it would die out, especially in the case of a MMORPG.
Saying all this, DHs are very plausible. First of all the Illidari are formed from nelves, belves, naga, shivarra and broken draenei, meaning they accept diversity. Second of all, there is no reason to not allow Illidari faction leaders to not train other races, they can choose their own fates, Illidan is no longer their leader and they allied themselves with their respective factions. It’s very easy to make a questline were new races perform the ritual and learn new abilities, heck if you done the DH starting zone you know that a lot of abilities come from demons we kill and metamorphosis is from a book we get through the starting quest.
The quest can take the new players to hunt hidden remains of the Burning Legion on Azeroth (Tehd and Marius are still adventuring together), simple to implement all while expanding lore of DH. Races which can be available should be races which were directly affected by the Burning Legion and brave/insane enough to perform the ritual: Orcs, Undead, Humans, Draenei.
Orcs, because they were enslaved and fooled by the Legion, forsaken are the result of magic developed by the Legion, humans because the Legion brought the orcs into Azeroth and draenei because of their past with the Legion.

Did you even read this bit at all? A fantasy world will have its own logic, which it must stand by to continue its credibility. If you tear up existing rules and established playable content then the whole thing becomes pointless.

If Tolkien hadn’t kept the logic of Mordor being impossible for the Great Eagles to fly in while Barad-dûr still stood, then LotR would have been an incredibly dull affair.

As soon as you start ignoring or overriding what is established just to crowbar new crap in, then it puts the entire story in question.

Look at Star Wars! After TLJ all past threats have been trivialised because “why didnt they just Hyperspace ram it?” And the same can be said for WoW.

Why are playable Demon Hunters or Death Knights special if they can just be churned out? Why are we fighting against the Scourge or the Burning Legion if we are so willing to freely immerse ourselves in their “evil” magic?

If other characters can so free create powerful Death Knights and Demon Hunters to the same quality as Arthus and Illidan have, then why isn’t the world flooded with these Hero Classes?

The thing is, they can’t. Both Hero Classes, as I have said, have very storied introductions. Please tell me you understand what “specific chronological point in history”, please? The playable characters are special because of circumstances at that specific time.

If they were so easily replicated then, again, where are the legions of player-strength Death Knights and Demon Hunters?

They could write it in if they wanted too. Could even be demon hunters that aren’t illadari.

No other races can do the dh animations though atm. Court of Stars is still bugged as dh so as a nightbourne in disguise you stand perfectly still while standing. Ditto as a human in chromie’s culling of strathome

so only Illidan creates new DH? Who said that? You can recruit illidari in class hall, who creates them?

Are they as strong as you? Do they res on their own after being a ghost while dead, like a player does? No, they are not.

They are inferior Demon Hunters.

I want an undead blood elf demon hunter :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
