DH Soul Fragments

You are trying to justify why I am doing bad but the fact is me and many others are now coming to forums to talk about getting 1-2 shot. I have item level over 100. I did reasonable amount of pve for someone just wanting to do pvp. Levelling, world quests, Magni Bronzebeard questline. And farmed azerite to get my necklace up and slotted essences.

If this is not enough to not get 1 or 2 shot or pretty much just deleted in seconds with no way to earn pvp gear as this is my desired avenue of play, then I think this is stupid and pvp should be improved. This is nothing to do with skill, this is what I’m trying to tell you. With pvp scaling the game felt much more skillful. Now with it gone your precious game has zero skill bruv. Your game kaka poopoo zero skill andy bullcrap

So… you argue it has zero skill yet you can barely win after they nerfed DH’s self heal and removed Gushing (its main source of dmg). Now you are getting deleted because you press Blur stand there and continue to tank the dmg? do you even realise that DH was never designed to face tank, it could only do this because if its broken self heal, which is nerfed, you now need to actually use your mobility to kite away and LoS the dmg etc instead of pushing Blur tanking the dmg then wondering why you still died.

Next time enemy’s use all their CD’s turn around and Fel Rush to a pillar and avoid the dmg, you can’t tank it anymore.

Good idea on paper, sadly it does not work like that in any way due to being completly reliant on UBC and Mortal Rush on Fel Rush.

Thats big part of the reason you just dont see any DHs in Arena right now; They have to use their mobility extremely offensively to do anything right now, while UBC is very easy to outplay too and bugs around, but they cannot go in like that anymore with all the high damage going on at the same time.

UBC actually reminds me a lot of warrior charge deadzone. Just play against them like that and they wont have much if any pressure at all since their overall damage outside of UBC is very meh.

Wouldn’t mind a QOL ability that allows DH to conveniently gather souls in an x yd area around them.

Everyone almost entirely ignored the original premise of the thread which was soul fragment pickup and went full on offtopic DH hate as per usual :slight_smile:

I happen agree that any resource you have to gather from the ground, be it soul fragment or chi orb, is not really an interesting ā€œminigameā€. Despite lacking any depth in it’s current iteration, DH class should have interesting things going for them aswell (preferably things that raise the skill ceiling so they are not so mind-numbing to play).

No need to surrender yourselves into becoming a mindless forum sheep whom enrages from seeing a purple class.

Just because they are a builder/spender with a few buttons it does not mean they lack depth. The depth is here in form of UBC, Momentum, Mortal Rush. I dont see how currently my MM hunter has much more depth just because I use Roar of Sacrifice on my teammates instead of Reverse or Darkness.

I’ve played DH up to 2,6k in S3 and it was really dull experience back then atleast, can’t say about spec’s current state since I haven’t touched the character recently.

I have not found it more dull than boomkin, MM or Spriest from all the classes I tried in Arena.

I can see why people do not like smashing Demons Bite into Chaos Strike all the time but ultimately it does not feel different for me when I play Chicken and just smash Wrath or Starfire after dots are up.

It’s because you don’t understand how ilvl and gear works. You might be ilvl 104, but consider that quest gear will leave you with around ilvl 75, and my fully geared warrior has ilvl 132, meaning that from start to finish of this expansion’s scaling, I have more than twice your power.
Not only that, I also have stronger gear pieces like Drest’agar and tailored azerite pieces.

Investing 5 days into a character is nowhere near enough, the majority of people have invested at least 30 days into a char to reach the power levels they’re on.
Also, other games aren’t really compareable to WoW.

Your suggesting a melee class should kite away and los dmg? What other melee class is expected to do this who isn’t a stealth rogue? Even then rogue doesn’t kite it vanishes and then burst damages or smoke bombs. This is ridiculous, we are designed to be in the fight. I think DH should be made more complicated to stop getting so much hate from the community and give us more interupts or dodge attacks to stay in the fight. Expecting us to run away is completely not how any melee should be played. We are a pressure class with life leech, we are designed to stay in the fight and use mobility to catch up with people and keep attacking to keep healing. Being expected to use our movement abilities to kite and run away is just hating on DH and taking a nerf way too far, no melee should be expected to ā€œkiteā€ this is a ranged class playstyle.

I like that blizzard are taking pvp seriously and making sure classes are not broken. Even though I am new to the game I realise there is a lot of people saying it was too strong.

To prove this though Blizzard should not leave one of their most fun, modern feeling classes in the bin. It’s super fun to play in pvp and is a popular class for people who love to be Aragorn and not Legolas or Gandalf or Gimley, it’s just our preference and we should stop getting so much hate for it. It’s arguably not any easier than other classes in the game like hunter or sp but it’s clearly counter class to a lot of ranged players which always gets a lot of hate from every pvp community imo, a lot of aggro melee classes always get the most hate. But honestly I would welcome a class redisign with another button or two to give us more of a skill cap and more pvp focused utility to stop this happening from the community.

I honestly went to DH because I didn’t want the hate for being a Rogue, but this seems even worse tbh. I’d be happy to recieve more uility to deal with chain stuns and getting locked out of a match completely, and take some things off the gcd like rogue has so many instant casts and now sp has abilities off the gcd, for a melee class that you have to be moving all the time and don’t have time to look down at your action bar as much like all the ranged classes saying it’s so easy, it would be nice to have some more things off the gcd as it does feel clunky at times and not nearly quick enough to get off an actually skillful combo like a rogue gets to do before i am just deleted in under 4 seconds with this new balance… Give us more skill based interupts and dodges to avoid dmg if our life leech is going to be nerfed and give us a skill based opener with abilities off the gcd to actually deal with the new pace of combat, I can barely press two or 3 buttons before I am dead and it feels like an clunky old game instead of a fast feeling melee class. Don’t just remove something that is core to making our class work but not have anything to replace it with. I believe this has happened to classes like Paladin and I’m sure most people can appreciate, if your friends literally won’t play with you in pvp anymore because you lose literally every match even though your gear is not that bad and your rank is low and should be facing others with that gear level, especially when your rank is being tanked by all the losses, then something is seriously wrong with your class and balance.

Please don’t leave DH in the bin blizz :frowning:

Go watch high rated arena melee players on Twitch, they use their mobility to get out of LoS, even Joe Fernandes does this on a Warrior, even Whaazz uses his Shadow Step to get to a pillar and LoS sometimes.

Play what you want to play, dont avoid playing a class because people hate it, I always understood why people disliked DH because of what it was made to be. But Rogue etc? I don’t get that. Just play what you enjoy, don’t let hate stop you.
