Diabolist destro is a dead spec - revise PVP scaling

Diabolist brings a lot of exciting “cycle” mechanics to destruction warlocks. Unfortunately, the 80% pvp scaling nerf to Touch of Rancora and Ruination have made this hero talent tree useless.

In its ideal form, Diabolist incentivises “casting” playstyle where you want to throw out chaos bolts to get Touch of Rancora going. Unfortunately, Chaos bolt itself has sub-par damage when considering the risk you take of getting locked out of both your spell schools for somewhere between 500-800k dmg per cast. Instead, you are better off just spamming Rain of Fire to spend shards and use shadowburn when Touch of Rancora is up. In a nutshell, Diabolist destro struggles to get casts off. And when it does, you get sub-par rewards.

I propose the following pvp tuning (to baseline damage of the mentioned spells) to incentivise a more engaging playstyle with counterplay

  • Nerf shadowburn damage by 20%
  • Nerf Rain of Fire damage by 25%
  • Buff Chaos bolt damage by 25%
  • Buff incinerate damage by 25%
  • Adjust PVP scaling on Touch of Rancora damage to a 40% nerf instead of 80%
  • Remove cast speed PVP scaling on Touch of Rancora
  • Remove PVP tuning on Ruination

Exact numbers are debatable. But this would at least make Diabolist destro playable in PvP

Ruination feels a a little weak, but that may be due to the fact that it’s supposed to be aoe. I guess they could bump it a little for blitz matches.
