Why does this lame spell exist, and why do so many Legendary/covenant/tier set effects rely on this garbage spell so much?

I still don’t understand why the Atotm is triggered after using the Essence Font.

Ef is mastery buff with lil healing. Why Ef our mainheal spell? whyyyyy?

I’m sorry, what? RM is good exactly BECAUSE of EF. EF is a boring spell, but with RM and AtotM, it’s actually a lot more fun and interesting to use than before as it’s not just “press when raid takes damage”.
The same people who ask for buffs are saying “we go rm cuz we don’t wanna use ef” let that sink it for a moment.

EF is a lot of healing. Do you know how many renewing mists you need to have active before Vivify is worth using instead of essence font? five. EF is crazy good and I can’t believe you just said it does little healing. Imagine asking for buffs in this mindset when you don’t even know how what parts of our class is strong.

Yeah, go look at any good MW and look at what their top healing comes from. Did you ever consider looking at how much spellpower our spells actually heal with? To get a vague idea of how efficient they are and why you should use them? I am so happy blizzard does not listen to any of you. Garbage like this is why they have abandoned the forums.

Fistweaving gets zero benefit from mastery. Zero. u just spend time and mana on cast EF. So what is EF for then?
If you like to think EF is a good ability, do it.
But there are better ones.

yeah, the ability that plays a large part in making Rising Mist good is “useless”. The ability that heals for 850% spellpower from the bolts alone, and then 302% spellpower from the hot is “useless”. The ability that does an average of 18-20k healing per cast for me (not counting the healing from Rising Mist) is “useless”
Do you know how Rising Mist works? 18 hots from Essence Font and 28% per Rising Mist “proc”. So 18x28%=504% spellpower for every rising sun kick which is only possible because of essence font. You can use like 3 rising sun kicks while your EF hots are still up and do 3x504% spellpower. How is this ability useless? Do I need to teach you basic math? How much does Vivify heal for? 140% spellpower+104% for each renewing mist active. Compare that to Essence Font

Yes, EF is totally useless and it totally hasn’t been our highest healing ability since the first day it was added to the game.
Fistweaving gets zero benefit from mastery, that is true but you don’t use EF because it makes our mastery hit twice. Our mastery is bad EXACTLY because it does not affect essence font. That is literally why our mastery is bad in a raid environment - it does not make our strongest ability stronger (not counting revival/celestials)
I really shouldn’t have to explain this to you. You can’t pull the “you’re a troll” card out of your behind while saying things like this.
Go ahead, say “ef is bad” while once again ignoring every point I’ve made. I even checked your HC Denathrius kill where you got 9 innervates and spammed enveloping mist 53 times, and EF is still doing a lot more healing with 34 casts.

it was added to separate dungeon and raid healing. the original MW in MoP could maintain renewing mist on around 15 targets and uplift (similar to vivify) was as powerful as a single target heal. it was overtuned to make it good for dungeons, but in raids it was almost as strong as revival. at first they added a diminishing return so the more targets it heals the weaker it gets, but eventually they capped RM to 4-5 ish targets and added EF for blanketing a raid group
The hidden gem is the double mastery proc from people who have the HoT on them. With Kyrian/Pelagos/Resplendent Mist, i can get 10k gust of mist crits during Weapons of Order. Ok it is not 100% guaranteed, but insanely fun to see someone go to full health by just casting renewing mist.
Also i like the visual of the spell, but that is maybe just me.

This only applies in dungeons, because it raids it’s really not that useful to have a double mastery proc. In raids we want to avoid mastery because it is our worst stat by far (except for on Sun King’s Salvation). WoO+Resplendent Mists+EF is really fun to play around with. WoO+EF+Chi-ji is also amazing in dungeons.
