I just wonder, was it just a lucky random coincidence, or was Elune involved in Elves and Taurens creation?
What we know:
1). Once in the Hyjal mountains a tribe of the cave trolls was living. This place was located close to the sea at the end of the continent. There also Cenarius was living.
Suddenly they took all their belongings and have left their homes for unknow reason. They have traveled throw the half of the continent, and started to live close to the magical lake.
While living there, they have transformed into Elves.
Since the day one, they started to worship Elune (who’s existing was proved only in Shadowlands 10k years after). They also started to love nature. Cenarius started to teach them the way of the druids. Elune started to call elves as her favorite children.
2). Once in Pandaria a race of Yaungol was living. Suddenly one of the tribes have left Pandaria, traveled throw the half of the continent, and started to live close to the magical lake.
While living there, they have transformed into Taurens.
Since the day one, they started to believe in Mu’sha, the moon (Elune), and An’she, the sun. They also started to love nature. Cenarius started to teach them the way of the druids.
That is it. Only 2 nations in Azeroth believe that Elune exist since day one. Only those 2 nations were Cenarius (Elunes son) students, learning the path of the druids. Only those 2 nations have suddenly change their way of life and went to live at the Well of the Eternity. Only those 2 nation have transformed from something different while living at this lake.
So, was it really just a coincidence? Or was Elune (or maybe also An’she) and Cenarius actually involved in creation of those creatures?
tbh back than Azeroth was one continent. And lore states that dark troll just happened to find the well during their travels, as for the yaungol.
" Several millennia before the, the yaungol roamed central Kalimdor and lived in peace with the demigod Cenarius"
So tauren ancestors were living in middle Kalimdor at the start, and were practicing druidism, later down the line they got enslaved by mogu, then got freed, then tribes went off different paths basically.
While maybe not actively creating them, Elune for sure had a lot of influence in their cultural development and shaping both peoples history and society.
So in a more indirect and philosophical way, Elune did create them.
Her existence has been proven multiple times throughout the game and in universe, tbf. I don’t think anyone ever actually doubted her existing.
Typical Naaru lies and medling with the mortals…
E’luune one day will answer her crimes, like X’era…
like the Eredar had an ancient artifact known as the Ata’mal crystal, a triangular crystal whose origin was a mystery to them untill Velen used it and they arrived to “save them”
Meta-narrative question here: what if the elf and tauren narratives of Elune are inaccurate? What if Elune was a mortal who just led people very well, and the story was embellished over time?
