Did Rogues Get the Shortest End of the Stick with Hero Talents? State of Rogues

I mean, the specs themselves have massive issues of basically doing/being (nominally) the same thing, all specs seem to also heavily rely on stealth now. Can you imagine if Sub, Sin and Outlaw didn’t all get pigeonholed into having Vanish as their primary burst DPS window? Hero Talents could have helped, but instead I feel they made everything worse.

I like the idea of the hero specs, but where are the visuals? Ideally they shouldn’t be so passive either, but let’s say we keep what we have. So, plague damage for Deathstalker. Cool. There’s not even a tiny green cloud splash (like with poisons) literally zero visuals added for that extra damage, same for the cosmic damage of the coin. Some classes got all the love in the world (warlocks, DK’s etc.) and some others like Druids, Rogues, DH’s and maybe warriors got breadcrumbs. it’s depressing.

The Vanish thing for dps is stupid in PVE, but Rogue is probably the biggest offender for pointless bloat of all classes in the game, aside from some of the ironing out of the RNG elements, Outlaw was best in Legion.

Yeah, I feel like the class needs a rework from the group up, but I don’t know if I trust Blizzard enough for such a massive undertaking. In a way rogues feels the most ‘unchanged’ compared to any other class (talking all the way from vanilla) at least the overall feel of the class, but maybe that’s just me. I don’t know how they could retain that while also reworking the class, if that makes sense.
