Did "Something on the Horizon" quest make me unable to do low level content?

Hello everyone,

I just dinged 80 on all my mains, and accepted the quest “Something on the Horizon” which gave a warning that “Remember that if you choose to skip, you won’t be able to go back to complete the skipped quests later, which means you’ll miss out on their rewards and reputation gains.”

I assumed it was just the level 70-80 content that was gonna get skipped. But now when im trying to do the Shadowland and dragonflight content which I was super stoked to do now when Ive leveld up and gotten some nice gear, i can’t pick them up from Chromie. Did I just f*** over myself? I’ve done this with all my high levels becasue I assumed it was just the War Within content. Am I completely unable to get to farm old reps and rewards and everything now? Or is there a fix to this?

I can get to Oribus for example but there is no portals, no flightmaster nothing. Sae with the Dragonflight stuff. I can get there, but the portal to the Emerald Dream isn’t there since I haven’t “unlocked it”, and I can’t find a way to do so now either.

No, “Something on the Horizon” had nothing to do with this. Skipping had nothing to do with this.

This is what happens when you try to start previous expansions at 80.

It’s INFURIATING!!

If the devs are not going to open up Chromie Time to max-level players, the least they could do would be to provide starting quests. /fume

You’re not the only one. Lots of people looking for help with ways to start previous expansions.

You want the quest Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons

to start Shadowlands. It could/should be available outside Stormwind Keep, on the steps. If it is there for you, Happy Days! If you are not phased to that, you’re pretty stuck.

Possible ways out of the phasing usually involve clearing or Abandoning any quests you may have in Stormwind.

If that fails, another solution I have heard is

  1. Create a Starter Account on your same BattleNet at https://account.battle.net/games#game-accounts
  2. Make an alt on that Starter Account and level it to 10.
  3. Have that alt take Chromie Time
  4. Party Sync your main with that alt

Apparently, once you have established Party Sync and started the quest, you can even log off the alt and close the extra copy of the game.

Make SURE you have ticked “Trivial Quests” ON before you start looking at previous expansions.
