Did they have human archers (hunters) in Warcraft 1-3?

Also, when did humans get the class in World of Warcraft? Just wondering if they existed before that or if they were added purely for gameplay reasons. I reckon there’s no lore for any human hunter?

Warcraft 1, yes.

Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3, no. In Warcraft 2 the ranged unit of the Alliance was High Elven Archer, in Warcraft 3 Dwarven Riffleman.

Fair enough. Should’ve been in WoW since the start then IMO. When did they add human archers? Cataclysm or before?
