Did they shut Russian Servers down & China?

Then blocked all from discussing ?

They haven’t closed the Russian servers as players from many other countries use them as they use the cyrillic alphabet. They’ve had to stop access to people in Russia to comply with the American sanctions otherwise the whole of Blizzard could be shut down. I imagine that the only reason the threads about Russia have been closed is because they all end up with people yelling at each other and no-one taking any notice of what others are posting.

China is different. Blizzard don’t operate there. Everything has to be done through a third party Chinese company (Netease or something like that). There seems to be some problem with renewing the contract but nothing more than that has been announced.

Yes, that’s what I thought - other Countries use them. That’s sorted then :))

Just a random thought, instead of Blizzard calling them “Russian” servers, which due to current world events, is an emotive term. Maybe they should rename them as “Cyrillic Language Servers”.

Indeed correct. And NetEase for now, until January 2023.

From what I read Netease were operating at a loss in China and now the contract is up they are not renewing it.
