just a killing time topic untill shadowlands launches,
did you ever get banned from wow and why so?
i once got a 3 day ban in 2014.
i was playing ‘‘south park the stick of truth’’.
had a lot off fun with it untill i got to this level where you had to mash your mouse button like a crazy person and i kept hopelessly failing at it.
I looked at the steam forums if other players ran into this problem and how they got past it.
i found a lot off options like download someone elses save file and load that one right past it. but i did not want to do that as i spent a lot off time on my current characters. eventually someone said use cheat engine to slow down the game so you easelly pass the level and you can continue.
i did that option and it worked perfectly.
later on when i was done playing it i wanted to do some wow stuff before going off to sleep, completely forgot i still had cheat engine running in the back ground and got insta banned for 3 days.
totally my own mistake

I got banned from the WoW forums a few days ago for pointing out a grammar mistake.
The entire forum community was massively against me on this one, claiming I was wrong.
Then, I linked the Wikipedia article dedicated to this specific grammar rule, and they flagged my thread.
Oh well.

For using trade as a chat channel.
One day ban. It was deserved and intentionally done by me, no dispute to it.
Back in MoP the Alliance and Horde cities had a clipping bug where you could fly up into the roof of the building at the right angle, clip through the wall and then fall down to be underneath all the city.
You could see and attack the players, and they couldn’t touch you back.
I used it to polymorph and CC, not attack them, but abuse nonetheless.
Nope. Never been banned or suspended.
I never got banned but I got a warning one time…
Once mechagon was realeased I was attacking players in Rustbolt with abilities that doesnt trigger the neutral guards. Then I was waiting for the ennemies to respond with an ability that trigger them. Some didnt fell in the trap, but most did. Rustbolt became a big warzone for hours, everyone was fighing everyone, that was insane, and spits everywhere of course.
Then a gamemaster whispered me asking me to stop creating chaos in that city. I said okay then did it again the next day
Good old time …cant wait for the new SL cities

Many years ago before WoW was added to battle.net, around the time of mid-TBC, I used a guest key which gave you a weeks full game access and tried to see how far I got using a bot called Glider, I hit 55 on a priest before the account got banned. If I had updated the bot I wouldn’t have gotten caught.
I also had a warning for buying gold but it was someone I lent gold to a long time before paying it back with interest. I think they may have bought the gold.
I once got a 24 hour mute for typing “no russians” in my lfg group description.
Never been banned ingame.
I got banned MANY times from WoW forums over the years. Most of it was under the rule of harassment. Yet I’ve never felt like it was. I was simply pointing out someone was being rather… silly.
I’ve learned over the years what to say, and what not to say. Although I STILL get vacations occasionally from the forums.
Never been muted or banned in-game, or on any other game or forums though.
Got banned for an offensive name once during wotlk I think? Didn’t really know what the word meant. It was pretty bad so well deserved ^^
In-game, never… had a few bans from the forums though, one for calling someone an “idiot”, and another for linking an image of a hand with 2 fingers [poking fun at the 3 button rotation of DHs
]
I am a good girl and I don’t do things that would risk my account

I got banned on that Facebook pool game within 2 secs of booting it up for the first time. Didn’t even reach the main menu, The only ban I’ve ever got in anything.
Never received a ban in game, not so much because I am a good girl, mainly because I am too dumb to work out a cheat in game

Also no bans on forum as yet - do I need to touch wood or something to be safe?

I play on German servers and was looking for a jewelcrafter in the trade chat. In German you ask for a “juwe” if you need gems but I accidentally wrote “jude” instead which means “jew”.
I woke up with a letter in my mailbox that I was banned for 3 hours. No idea why this was worthy of a ban but me and my friends thought it was pretty funny.
