Heyy Guys! I’m doing my loremaster, by reading the quests and I realized that some zones have a really different lore when played with the another faction!
Since I have no self control to play only one faction, and can’t stopping making alts on both.
Does anyone know which zones have much different lore when done with different factions?
Sorry if this thread bored you, I’m just a bit new to the forums, and I need a bit of help!
The starter zones are different for different races and therefore different factions.
There are expansions like Battle for Azeroth where we have two completely different levelling zones.
Personally I’ve always been excited when I get to do different questing in areas. Parts of Northrend have faction specific quest lines, or when we set up bases etc. It’s nice.
It can certainly be interesting to see the same story from different perspectives, or to follow two totally separate stories that eventually come together. It might be as small as hearing about supplies being sabotaged, and feeling a small amount of guilt for having done that on one of your other characters, or might be part of something far larger.
We’d be interested in hearing what overlapping storylines you’ve come across on your travels that others might have missed ^^
Of course, some zones are done only by one faction - Tirisfal vs Westfall, Frostfire vs Shadowmoon, all BfA zones, and so on.
Apart from those, the whole sequence Ashenvale->Stonetalon (especially) -> Southern Barrens jumps out at me as very different between Alliance and Horde.
Thank you! I was wondering more about the zones that are able to play by both factions, and that have much more different lore while played on opposite faction! I was just wondering which are the zones that have much more lore impact when switched to other faction.
As an altoholic i can tell you there are many different zones for Horde and Alliance with different levelling experiences. Not just the starterzones, but also a lot of the old world areas.
Expansion wise, Warlords of Draenor had a different starter zone for Horde and Alliance, also most zones use different questhubs, but a fair amount of quests do overlap.
The Burning Crusade has some nice different storlylines, but mostly a lot of the same quests from different hubs.
Wrath of the Lich King as you allready noticed has some pretty good different storylines. The same can be said for Mists of Pandaria, which also differs quite a bit for Horde and Alliance.
In my experience it’s really worth it to try and do all quests on both sides Also the rewards are different and will give you a pretty nice transmog arsenal!
Enjoy your travels!
In Pandaria, the difference between the factions is mostly not in the zones, except maybe Jade Forest, where as Alliance you end up wanting to strangle Anduin, and hand his lifeless body over to Hellscream with a ribbon on it, but in the post-cap content. The 5.1 Operation Shieldwall/Dominance Offensive questline is, I think, one of the best pieces of storytelling anywhere in the game.
