Different Realm, Different Latency

In the light of recent connection issues I decided to make farther investigations. I created new characters on couple of the realms.
And found the next:
Stormreaver 90-100 ms
Vashj 90-100 ms
Argent down 80-90 ms
Silvermoon 70-75 ms
Doomhammer 80-90 ms
Frostmane 60-70 ms
I guess servers that running realms are different, physical different. Even
placed in the different geological locations, other city or country.
But I’m not professional newtworking engineer. So I ask blizzard where servers are and why latency different.
The difference form realm to realm is around 30 ms, for real. I know guys that have latency less than 30 ms, in total! They living in Germany. When I created my first character Blizzard didn’t say: check other realm latency and choose the best realm for your location. And now I must be tormented playing on realm with latency 100 ms when I know for instance Frostmane have 60 ms??? Why Blizzard? Why should I pay sub for bad connection when I know for sure other realm can provide me excellent connection?
I want transfer all my characters to low latency realm!

That information is not something we can reveal.

What we can always take a look at for you though is some connection tests to your server of Frostmane to try and establish why it goes high. While 100ms certainly isnt terrible, it can be noticeable in some situations and ideally should be lower.

If you run a WinMTR test and then paste the results into a website like Pastebin, you can then provide a link to that in your response to this thread so we can take a look. To post links, use the </> symbol which is just above the text entry box.

Hi.
But you didn’t read careful!
Frostmane Is low!!! I have one of the lowest latency to it.
Stormreaver 90-100 ms
Vashj 90-100 ms
is that a high latency.
I think this level of latency, in some way, related to connection realms because of Stormreaver, Vashj are connected realms.
And I don’t understand what you want me to do.
There are many realms, certainly part of them have high latency that others.
Because they are located much farther than others. Its a fact. How running MTR help move server form Ireland to France??? How? Do you want me to create character on each realm to test it? Really? Do you want me run 2 MTR ? One when I play on realm with bad latency and one when I play on realm with good latency to compare it? Just agree that player have freedom to choose realm with best latency to play then transfer my characters to that realm.

Apologies for getting mixed up there.

It’s up to you if you want to run these tests of course as I just wanted to establish if there was an issue with routing to a server you play on. If you play on a server and you find it’s high latency, we can always take a look to see if there is something that can be done.

I feel though I can’t give you the answers you are looking for as we on the forums are not in the position to answer things like “which realm has best latency for your location” or decide on if that would be a feature to put ingame. If you feel it would be helpful, you can suggest it to our developers using the ingame suggestion tool which can be found in the help menu.

Again, it’s up to you if you want to do some troubleshooting so we can help look into it but if you are not actively playing on one of the servers with high latency then there isnt much we can really do here.
