The world quest in this case:
Flight School: Flapping Frenzy, in Bastion, a few days ago
Reward: Instructor’s Divine Bell (for my main, and the ppl in my guilds main, but not my alt thats a balance druid, 205 ilvl)
So this quest just appeared on WQ a few days ago. However, I needed it on my alt. The item reward was the trinket on my main, but the item reward for my druid was a worthless resto conduit. How am I supposed to know which reward I will get next time that WQ-trinket appear? Pray for luck? Or gather every single conduit available that can also drop from that quest? Atleast I have that conduit now (for whatever reason i may need it), but is it “bound” to the same reward as the trinket? Anything else?
Worth to mention: I could get other 194 ilvl trinkets for example feral etc, but this was a conduit reward only, for my alt. For my main it was the trinket (and others in the guild).
I mean, this is not random and something you should be able to control.
Another question, is it possible to track whenever that item pops again?
I’ve tried to find any official sources for you, but as I suspected, there isn’t a lot of information out there around WQs in general, so I’ll leave some anecdotal observations here, that should be taken with a pinch of salt.
WQs in SL seem to generally fall into different loot-table groups that sometimes share loot and show different rewards for each character you’re viewing/doing them on:
Armor (any armor for the class you’re doing them on)
Weapons (any useable weapon for the class you’re doing them on)
Trinkets/Conduits (any trinket or conduit for the class you’re doing them on)
Pet Battles (either pet charms or different stones)
It seems like the rewards within those pools are generated randomly for each character, so you’ll need to cross your fingers and check on the respective characters to see what the actual reward is. Wowhead unfortunately doesn’t have an overview of all WQs and their potential rewards, but only the ones that are currently up on their “Active World Quests” page. At the very bottom of the page, you’ll find a full list that sometimes shows the rewards for the worldquests, but isn’t completely up to speed it seems.
I wouldn’t be aware of any tracking ability for those WQ rewards unless you log on to that respective character, but there is a pretty solid addon called “World Quest Tracker” that I’ve been using for a while now, which, if you zoom out on the map, gives you a full list of all active worldquests as well as rewards for the character you’re logged in on. It groups them up by reward type, so any equipment would show up together so you don’t have to check each quest in each zone.
Maybe the above is somewhat helpful? It seems like there really isn’t a lot of information on worldquests out there.
Thanks alot for your answer! Really appreciated, it seems for me specifically I need to get some conduits, kinda annoying tho since I play a druid with 4 different speccs. But it is what it is, atleast I have the conduit that dropped from that quest now, hopefully it shares loot table with the trinket.
I am using the World Quest Tracker addon already, and its really helpful! So I guess I just need to pray for some kind of luck atleast. Im also gonna level up the mission table for increased chance.
