It wouldnt even require much lore bending. Just a short quest for warlocks where they intercept group of Shadowguard with small shard of Dimensius.
We know from TBC that you can summon smaller and weaker version of him this way. So warlocks get that tiny shard, summons tiny fraction of his being amd enslaves it.
See? No new lore needed.

Giving us Dimensious himself as a Pet would indeed be a little excessive. However, we could get a shade that just contains a fraction of his power, which we enslave as our Voidwalker
