Why can’t i directly visit any server on this game like in FF14? It is really annoying and weird this isn’t in the game yet in 2024. You’ve proven you can do it, because i can be invited to a different realm.
You can join with a friend or whatever, but i can’t just visit directly?
Like, my server is dead; i don’t like playing with other people, but i like seeing a living world with other people in it. So now you expect me to pay some absurd amount to simply move my characters?
People are going to say “you so broke!” or something dumb like that. I’m actually a millionaire, i just refuse to spend money on something so obviously extortionate. It is insulting quite frankly. Who in their right mind thought this pricing was reasonable?
I actually feel disgusted by the game now, and i might even stop playing it, because the pricing is just so grotesque. Even the cosmetics they sell in their store are ridiculously priced.
What is the logic behind this?
People defending it as some disincentive to transfer servers LOL… Like, guys, i don’t think they care about making a disincentive. No, they know someone set on transferring servers will pay to do so, so they’re just ripping them off shamelessly under the guise this is some good thing.
They’re exploiting something called the “sunken cost fallacy”. You see, they know you’ve invested time in your character, but to play it on a dead server where you can’t show it off? Well, that just won’t do on a game so cosmetic focused these days.
They know you’ll transfer to not feel like you wasted your time. It is exploitation pure and simple. So they’ve hiked the price up to some ridiculous amount and presented it as something innocent and helpful.
Now, i’m not calling the people who don’t see this stupid. No… They’re just not really paying attention to the emotional leverage being exploited. They have teams dedicated to making shady business practices come across as something innocent. At the end of the day, they’re just trying to take your money.
They have no excuses not to put a direct server visit in the game outside of wanting to force people to pay to transfer. They simply don’t want to let it go, but the optics are atrocious for not doing so. It is pure and obvious greed for all to see.
