Disable Lightning Shield Visual - Motion Sickness

Hi there,

I am not sure if anything can be done but thought it worth a try.

I suffer from tremendous motion sickness and vertigo and random things in day-to-day life can impact it.

I currently play Shaman, it is the only class I like to play and have since launch, however with the reintroduction of shields (Lightning, Earth, Water) I find the rotating effect around my character extremely triggering and it makes me feel incredibly dizzy, similar to how people were feeling towards the Flame Orbs for Fire Mage in Legion.

I know this may sound a little pathetic but I am struggling with the spell effects very much, the rotating orbs make me feel dizzy and I have to log off after an hour. Is there any way whatsoever to disable the visual effects of these shields? I would opt to just not use them but they’re now fundamental to the spec. Is there anything that can be done in game files (in line with the terms of use) that would help me with this?

You could try turning some of the game settings right down to see if that gets rid of the effect. I remember a while back watching a world first Mythic raid stream and one of the raiders said they do this to prevent WoW’s many visual effects from interfering with their gameplay.

Hey! I tried this but sadly doesn’t work, just reduces how detailed it looks but it’s still there spinning around sadly

Or alternatively, is there a macro or something I run so that it is automatically dispelled out of combat?
