Hello! I’ve been having trouble saving UI settings and Weak Aura strings and deleting WA strings.
Whenever i logout ( logging out normally not alt f4) all my Elvui settings, Dominos action bar settings, Weak Aura strings that i’ve recently import disappear and missing strings. Not being a tech savvy i’ve come to ask for help. What should i do to fix these problems.
Things i’ve tried :
Sounds like something, likely anti-virus. Is preventing writing to your WTF folders.
Should I make an exclude scan on it or something?
You could start by temporarily disabling your AV and see if the problem stops. If it does then you can Google your way down the rabbit hole to find the correct solution for your AV.
You should make sure you are able to write to the WTF folder with the current logged in user. I assume you either have WoW once running as administrator (which than results in change files in the WTF folder to become only writeable by admin), some sort of NTFS bug or a anti virus blocking access to this directory for some reason.
You can test the permission by simply tryin to rename the WTF folder. If it requires you to sign in to UAC or denies your access, you most likely having permission issues.
A file system error is most likely to happen if the drive is about to fail. In this case a hardware replacement might be neccessary.
If the anti virus is blocking the access, you can add the WTF folder to it’s exclude list.
