Disc priest feedback (raid)

Hello, I am Chaddaddy, (or Chadmommy) I have been maining disc for a very long time. I raid in 3 separate guilds, 2 of those on a cutting edge level.
I have a very deep passion for disc, and with the state of disc right now, I think we need to see some large changes to how disc plays and what tools we have. Disc has simply reached a point where we are desperately powercrept.

  • Disc priest is way too static, if a boss offers timers on a rough 30-40 second cadence, or like Mug’zee on evangelism timers (1:30 ~) disc is going to do great, but the moment we get bosses that don’t fit these schedules we become nearly unplayable.

We need more tools like overloaded with light, but on a lower cooldown. The fact that ultimate penitence in its current state is a 4 minute cooldown is an absolute disaster.
The spell looks incredible and it barely does any healing and its tooltip is misleading, the cooldown reduction we used to have was a step in the right direction,
we need something similar to bridge gaps on fights where the cadence is unfavorable, being able to quickly apply atonements like overloaded with light does makes us much more versatile very quickly.

  • Disc priest is still one of only 2 specs in the game without an interrupt, we still lack utility and mobility, and our single immunity to knockbacks in Ultimate penitence
    is now removed, a biproduct of something desirable being added: being able to move inside Ultimate penitence.

I don’t want to expand on this too much since I already spoke on Ultimate penitence, but I think it a little insane we’ve had a knockback removed, and that we are one of 2
specs that lack what I would consider basic, fundamental tools to enable us to play the game properly.
I think lacking some tools like the aforementioned knockback is fine,
but not having an interrupt is an asymmetry that is frankly unacceptable.

  • Disc priest used to have really cool, snappy burst spells like lights wrath, now we are the only burst healer without proper snappy burst.

We used to have lights wrath in Legion, but it was added again in Dragonflight and people were very excited for it, unfortunately it suffered massively because it felt like
developers were too scared to buff it, even in tiers where we were notoriously weak.

In Aberrus .5 patch we notably had holy nova hit as hard as Lights wrath with rhapsody stacks,
and after this tuning failure it was removed. In my mind this is a mistake, disc needs something that gives us that snappy burst option, it doesn’t have to be lights wrath, but we need to be able to reliably hit those same peaks.
