What is the optimal haste (or GCD, since they define each other) value in 2s? I am currently playing with ~29% in PvP, which makes 1.16 GCD (if i stay with 1.16 GCD, I shall go for 28.76% haste later as it’s the lowest value allowing 1.16 GCD). It feels good, but maybe small adjustments in haste->versa or vice versa could increase my performance.
So I was wondering if someone made calculations or simulations to determine the optimal value, i.e. the one maximizing our dps.
Well, I don’t see what’s wrong with that.
How do you decide the distribution of your stats yourself? Are you just like “Well, i like crit, let’s buy pvp items with crit”? Or do you just choose randomly?
Ofc no, you follow some guides or whatever. And it’s always been the case, since, obviously, some stats distribution provides better DPS than another.
You have around 38k “points” for secondary stats in pvp, so you want to optimize the DPS function
DPS(haste, crit, mastery, versa) → max s.t. haste+crit+mastery+versa = const
-We could pretty much ignore crit as 1% of crit is 0.5% of DPS increase in PVP.
-1% of versa is simply 1% of DPS increase.
-Mastery doesn’t matter for Disc as it only increases healing.
-The question is how should I include haste in my equation. The most basic approximation is 1% of haste → 1% of damage increase as x% of haste means that we could fit x% more spells in a given time frame. But it’s much more complicated than that with GCD reduction etc
