I tried using Vanishing Powder but it says I have no active glyphs, so either the powder is not working or there is another reason why I have a Lightspawn… maybe it changed automatically with my spec or hero talents? Currently Discipline/Oracle. I really want to change it back to Shadowfiend…
Do you have it talented? I’d try the powder again without any talents active modifying it. Could be that prevents the powder from “recognizing” the glyph.
If you have a glyph active, you should see a light purple edge at the corner of the icon - but maybe that also disappeared with a talent.

I’m not 100% certain but I think it’s bugged and you’re stuck with the Lightspawn

I did search the talent tree but the few results for Shadowfiend don’t mention its appearance, and no results for Lightspawn.
I don’t see any purple edge on Shadowfiend in my Spellbook, so that seems to rule out an issue with the Vanishing Powder. Maybe there was a glyph and at some point, somehow it became permanent? Or could there be some other mechanism or bug at play?
Lightspawn is indeed a glyph, a flavour item to let Holy Priests not use Shadow spells in a way:

It’s just very weird that the powder didn’t help, it should have removed the glyph… maybe apply Lightspawn another time and see if this lets you remove it? Or try to use the Voidling glyph and remove it, maybe that will somehow reset the Shadowfiend?

If I remember correctly there is weird interaction where glyphs can’t be deleted if you specced into talents which alter the spell which is glyphed, most likely because the spell id changes.
Try to not pick any talent which alters shadowfiend. E.g. mind bender. There are more - in the talent tree search for shadowfiend and dont pick any talent which will be marked.
Try again to delete and apply a glyph. Hope that helps. Sry if not.

the Glyphs for shadowfeind have been bugged since the end of shadowlands. The game thinks shadowfiend is a shadow only spell.
I’m also suck with lightspawn and cant remove it with vanish powder of other glyphs.
Isn’t shadowfiend being removed in midnight? that might just be the fix…

So, I tried all combinations of talents, including Mindbender, and then applying the Glyph of the Sha, removing it… nothing had any effect as long as I was in Discipline. When I switched to Shadow or Holy I finally had a Shadowfiend, and the glyphs worked as expected, but back in Discipline nothing changed, the glyphs seem to work, you get the pink corner overlay but no effect, always a Lightspawn.
In the end I found a workaround though: changing Hero talents to Voidweaver replaces Shadowfiend with Voidwraith, which unlike Mindbender looks as it’s supposed to… finally!
Voidwrath activates Shadow Covenant just like Shadowfiend does.
Shadowfriend has been bugged for Disc for a few expansions now.
And then there’s voidweaver that just overwrites it with its talent.
