Disconnect on login; Only 1 character affected

I am not a super techy person, so I thought I would ask here.
On my main character (this one I post from) I get disconnected when I log on if I have all my addons on.
If I disable them and re-enable them once in game, stuff works.

This ONLY Happens on this one specific character however, I can log on with all addons enabled on every other character I own.
I’ve tried to fix it by reinstalling addons.

I BELIEVE it has something to do with TSM, but I am not 100% certain because disabling that addon alone does not fix it.
Disabling All The Things alone does not fix it.
Disabling TSM + All the things + TRP fixes the issue. (I removed TRP completely now cause I do not RP anymore in game anyway)
I’ve re-installed TSM and ATT.
This issue still happens after removal of TRP.

How do I go about troubleshooting what setting in either of addons might be causing the issue for this one specific character?
Has anyone else experienced this specific issue that seems so character specific?

Any help is appreciated in troubleshooting this issue! Thank you! :dracthyr_love_animated:

Nobody who has any copper to chip in on this issue?
I can’t seem to figure out the issue on my own and it has been going on for entirety of DF. :frowning:

Hi,

Get bug-grabber addon if you don’t already have it, then check the bug-sack for what is going on. It will register most events there.

Now, if you are failing due to an addon on only that character, there is probably something weird going on. It almost sounds like a WA issue, but it is unlikely. But I had similar happenstance where OPIE (addon) crashed when my UI WAs loaded in on my characters. I fixed it by cleaning up my UI WA that had some - hotfixes, I had made, that was clogging things up in the bag-department.

So, yeah. Best option for you is checking the bug report, see what events are happening. Then take it from there.

Best of luck and happy bug hunting! :dracthyr_heart:

My guess is that the combination of TSM and ATT are taking too long to start up which can lead to a DC.

One think you can try is to wipe out the TSM cache - sometimes it can get a bit bloated and cause TSM to slow down.

To do this go into the game directory and delete the entire Cache folder. The folder will be recreated the next time you start the game up which will force TSM to rebuilt it’s cache.

One you get back in go into the TMS settings then to Accounting. Under the Clear Old Data option - select the amount of historical data you want to keep (I suggest no more than 1 year) and then hit the clear data button.

It’s probably the saved data size as mentioned above not just the addons code.

Any ‘stuff’ that’s recorded by addons is saved in a standard text file. When you log into the game these files are read line by line in a very slow fashion.

Have you ever tried opening a big text file in Windows Notepad? It’s a bit like that.

The game will be stalling for too long and/or the addons themselves are crashing during this process. So, wipe or prune any saved data from these addons.

Thank you.
Im just afraid of removing any vital stuff, like settings for TSM or similar.
I am guessing this is not tied to the same thing?

Deleting the cache doesn’t affect your saved data/addon settings.

Thank you guys, I will try out these things and come back with the result!

Deleting cache did not fix it :frowning:
