Disconnection timer while AFK

Hi everyone,

Since you all know some servers are very high populated, which brings insane queues with it.
I play on Firemaw, been there since launch. And all though queue times has been a little better since latest hot fix I still have trouble with the whole afk/disconnection issue.

Can somebody confirm by 100% for how long I can be afk before really dc’d? It used to be like 30 + 30min. But now I’ve been dc’d 4 times in under 20min and brought to queue. I have a family and child and sometimes as you know something happens and I have to go away, don’t want to be stuck in queue for being away for 20min…

Sorry for long post, regards from an frustrated classic loving dad.

I’ve talked to a GM and it seems like Blizzard is flagging people based on how long they go afk and then moving only a few cm or jumping. Those people get easily disconnected after they received the AFK flag a few times. At the moment there is nothing you can do about it. You can’t even get the info if your account got flagged.

My Account got flagged besides doing the “Method press Space bar” every 15-29min.

Thanks for answering!

It happened today again, was afk not more then 10min and when I came back I was disconnected, without the chance to “grace period”, so probably I was dc’d earlier than 10min.
Non the less this extreme queues most come to an end now, or they have to bring us free migration earlier then planned. This is getting ridiculous! Sure I can re-roll, but for how many times, and without all my friends?!

REally doubt your “flag” theory.

it’s frowned opun and i have only done it once myself, that was Yday when i fell ill with a migraine attack ( takes about 30-40 mins to go away ) and i wasnt about to lose my spot and sit in queue for the rest of the night. so yes i pressed space once in a while to stay in.

You can doubt it all you want. I got an official answer from the GMs. There is also a reddit thread about it.
