Why does every guild have a discord , if no one can bothered to talk on it.
I remember the old days when I shared laughs , stories. With other fellow guildmates , we became friends in game because of it. Knew each other’s class , personnalities.
Allowed to me find people with common goals inside the guild.
Heck I even found a girlfriend because of it in game.
2019-2021 discord is just dead , except raid nights, the only time I see people online in chat channel is to do 1 mythic dungeon then they all log off.
What happened ? Why does nobody want to talk anymore ? What happened to making friends ? What happened to sharing jokes ? What happened to that sense of guild mateship , that sense of community ? Every guild i’m in doesn’t feel like a guild anymore. It no longer feels like a small tribe or family. Everyone is just doing their own thing constantly.
I miss just meeting new personalities and asking hey I’m about to tank a key want to come with ? Does anything like still exist in the modern era ?
They are online for hours upon hours , i know they got mics , because they talk in raid. Just Discord silence … nobody talks in guild chat.
No idea, my guild discord is pretty active and also the forum discord is active every day! (you’re welcome there too) Could be a string of bad luck on your part but I can’t really say I share the same experience.
I will say that making friends in random group activities used to be a lot easier.
My old guild in BFA struggled with the same.
We were always GM and Officers on the Discord. We tried splitting up and do M+ with guildies on Discord in attempt to getting people to know oneanother. We made it mandatory to at least listen in from +6 and up (in attempt to kinda make people feel comfortable with those who talked)
During raids, it was GM, officers and RL talking… Maybe a member or two also. But aside of that we simply could not pull people to discord, we would be lucky if we even got them to listen in.
My guild (on my main) has activity on discord (and even in game guild chat!). Maybe not so much right now since alot of ppl are on breaks while waiting for new stuff, but in general a very social guild. Even have had nights to play other games like among us and such. Usually a bunch of ppl just hanging out in voice general to talk nonsense aswell.
Sounds like you just havent found the right guild.
Back in Cataclysm, we had a homepage that I made, we had a forum that was rather active. Signups for raids were done on the homepage. We were a lot of people who had played together since tbc/wotlk.
Then people quit. The forum quieted down, there were a few of us still posting stuff there. We were about 5-6 players left or something and struggled to raid. So, we merged with another guild.
That didn’t work out as we thought it would. Those people just left our teamspeak as soon as raid was over and went back to their old mumble server. They never made any posts on the forums either.
It was very much 2 separate guilds in practice, because none of them ever talked to us outside of raiding. And then they wonder why it didn’t work out.
Depends on the guild I guess. Mines mega lively and people are always hanging on disco, if they’re playing WoW. Couldn’t imagine playing WoW and not being on disco 7 days a week tbh. Been in plenty of guilds that don’t talk though.
To be fair most discords I’m on are lively places, it’s just mostly in written format. Some have people on them every day who actually voice chat to each other.
I love chatting and playing same time. Also talking really speeds up leveling. Even if your solo leveling just talking you don’t even realize how much your done.
Leveling solo with no one talking can make it feel like a slog big time.
By talking I meant typing, so many people invited me to voice but I rarely join. I hate push to talk, like how am I supposed to do my rotation when one of my fingers is at F1 -.-
