Discussion for "season" II

Hello there. I wanted to create a topic to discuss what we have in “season” I and what we want or think should change or be added for season II for any class and spec.

First of all. The SoD experience is and was a blast for me and classes and specs not being balanced is no problem for me, since this is new project with following seasons to change stuff. Now for my personal feedback for season I and wishes for season II for the 2 classes I played since SoD started.

Shaman: Enhance tank:
I am and always will be an enhance main. Same with season of discovery. Since they added tanking for shamans with tankrunes that are easy to get, i instantly specced and leveled as an enhance. My leveling expirience was decent (in terms of feeling powerful and downtimes) and shaman tanking in dungeon was a edited by moderator blast! Except WC, edited by moderator that dungeon.
With Molten Blast we have a AOE that slaps and does immense amounts of thread. We have mana sustain with Shield Mastery and become beefy with Way of the Earth (which lets us shock two times!). It is also is realy nice against meless in pvp, but losing range on our kick makes it suck against casters, which is ok imo. Cant be good in everything.
My rating for Enhance tank is:

Leveling: B-
Dungeons: A+
Pvp: B+

Shaman: Enhance dps (lvl 25, 7/7 BFD Raiding)
First if all, the decision to go dual wield was one of the biggest gut punch I have endured since the hype of SoD. I think I speak for most enhance mains when I tell you that we want our big bonking sticks back! EVEN if we have to skill it in our skilltree.
While the dualwield enhance runes have potential, especially Dual Wield Specialization, we lack a spell that does damage AND/OR a spell that cleaves. Lava Lash is and will always will be a bane to my existence. A dualwielding class that cant spec into his offhand to lose some of the 50% damage penalty, and the spell he gets does lousy 100% offhand damage (now 150%) which is still nothing because it is still a offhand attack. Maybe give us Primal Strike from retail with x% amount of weapon damage.
Shamanistic Rage on the otherhand starts weak, and becomes stronger the more AP you have. The following buff for Shamanistic Rage are welcome too.
Having no mana was the biggest obstacle in the “old” classic, and Shamanistic Rage helps us counter that. I like that blizzard saw that problem and is trying to fix it.
Anyway, Blizzard PLEASE, for the love of everything, give us twohanded Enhance back.

On a side note: Being the only melee class that cant profit from Windfury is super lame. Make at least druid Windfury stack with our weapon enchants.

I didnt play enhance very much in pvp and in the leveling phase, so my rating are more of a hunch than anything. Take it with a grain of salt.

Leveling: C
Dungeons : C+
PVP: C+

Hunter: Survival (lvl 25, 6/7 first BFD raid one day ago)
Since I couldnt twohand my Enhance properly, I wanted to fill that gap with a survival hunter. And oh boy, it didnt disappoint! Slaping mobs with a fat two hander with Raptor Strike and Flanking strikes + the overpowered pet made the leveling experience with my survival hunter sky rocket. With my trusty wolf ony my side, and his howl buff that buffs him and me! we slap mobs together in close combat. I know survival is not the “best” spec that hunter can offer, but I still enjoyed it immensly. What I dont get is the Lone Wolf rune, which is probably made for survival hunters. Let me quote:

“You deal 15% increased damage with all attacks while you do not have an active pet.”

You sacrifice your pet for lousy 15% more damage. You could buff that rune to 35% more damage and it would still suck because the pet would still make up for the 35% more damage, and you still got the chest rune free for Master Marksman, Heart of the Lion or Cobra Strikes.
Lone Wolf is activly making you damage worse which is kind of stupid.
So yeah, either pets get a nerf and simultaneously Lone Wolf gets a big buff or Lone Wolf gets a gigantiv buff to be considered.

Other thing that is kind of annoying with Lone Wolf is that Flanking Strike benefits from having a pet, which makes Lone Wolf even worth. Maybe add, idk 175% weapon damage if you dont have a pet, or cooldown reduced to 15 when no pet is active.
It is still a great rune, dont get me wrong, 30s cd is kind of long, but it still slaps.
Well sorry for the rant about Lone Wolf, its just mind boggling how bad that rune is.
Now to my rating:

Leveling: S
PVP: A+
Dungeons: A+

Now to you ladies and gentleman. I would love to read your feedback for classes and specs you played in season I and what you with for in season II.

Cheers!

I play a lock and enh shaman. Love both classes, however, casters have a harder time at 25 than melees. Itemization is the main issue, since +SP gear is rare while melee scale way better with base stats such as agi and str. Again, it’s a phase issue and at 40 it will probably be a bit better in that sense. Love the runes so far, can’t wait to see what will they add for the lock.

As for the shaman. Love DW shamans, I love the idea and I hope they will be viable as a dps class. They scale decent with gear (not as good as rogues or warrs), but I can’t say I’m not happy. Threat is an issue since Rockbiter and Earth Shock both do high amounts of threat (and you have to use rockbiter on both weapons for max dps). 2H enh is something I would try, if Blizz decided to do something about it. Shamans are the “equivalent” of Paladins, but so far, far more inferior in many regards.

You’re not speaking for everyone and I’m eternally grateful we got DW in SoD. But you’re right about Lava Lash being a dog talent and it’s a joke that is what they gave us.

thank you for the nice comment :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Shivette I said I speak for most enhance mains, not for everyone.

But if we take this post as our point of reference its 2 for dualwield and 1 for twohanded.
So yeah, not looking good for me :smiling_face_with_tear:
