[Discussion] [H] [RP] The Horde RP scene

No way…

Yeah, way!

Swim or sink. That’s the general mantra in my neck of the woods. No two lecturers are the same and I know one who’d blow a forehead-vein if she saw some tomfoolery right in front of her, but most of them don’t give a collective turd about the ones who, mutually, don’t seem to care to learn.

They’ll go above and beyond for the ones that try and make an effort, mind you.

In the end, it’s the student’s head on the chopping block. And part of being an adult is managing your own life, not having your hand held. :man_shrugging:

Not to be that guy but your novel filling err arguments make you seem the obsessed one,
I know its true that you went to uni… together with tubri.

But can you make your point in 1 sentence?

Or they don’t care anymore knowing that phone-posters will fail the semester anyways, I’d like to think that I care in my job =)

Oh, you’re a fellow lecturer as well, very cool

It is possible and common to enter university at or closely before being 18 years old here in and the university I went to and the one I work at now both realised that there is in fact a need to do just that (if you still care about your students’ eventual achievements)

He could focus his complaints on specific individuals within the community who he personally dislikes the methods and behaviour of. He could act on his disagreement by refusing to participate in that community’s roleplay, lord knows there’s plenty of other guilds and locations unconnected to them to roleplay in.

But nothing constructive comes from treating this community as a giant monolithic entity that is consuming the Horde. That sort of behaviour has turned this entire thread into a 700-post advertisement for this community. A thread that is supposed to be about the Horde RP scene has been twisted to revolve around a very specific community. Do you understand how this could give some roleplayers the impression that this community is a bigger part of the Horde RP scene than it actually is?

A literal reddit link as a retort? Well, I’m not much of a reddithead but:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/d97vfa/hundreds_of_players_are_standing_on_top_of/

Damn! I didn’t even post this one myself (like the one you posted, which was delivered in a weird third person despite the OP being the event host! Pretty dishonest) got twice the internet points

Looks like I just sent you to the shadow realm easily

My event was 100% just a copy-paste from the cinematic instead of a week long campaign to represent a day-long war where the characters deviated from their dialogue and the rebels started tink-tinking (breaking the symbolism entirely)

The followup where your student of guldan warlock said that all Orgrimmar grunts would be executed instantly was really cool but sadly 100% Reshthuloid RP + as usual led to nothing

It’s a shame the turnout wasn’t as good as you’d have like, Resh, but please stick to reality

All your characters have the exact same base mindset with some added venear in terms of “this one’s a [troll] of [loa]” or “this one’s an [orc] who uses [magic]”

They’re all also incredibly powerful for some reason

Yeah, and that is my problem with you. You have always benefited from what is essentially the volunteer work of myself and more importantly my officers but you always do these slippery little snipes. It’s insincere at best and ungrateful at worst

Your weird alt was just echoing your other alt’s exact (headcanon + weird + not interesting) opinions word for word so I asked you if you play any characters that aren’t just Reshthul in another skin

I stand by that 100%

Says the guy who posts about us exclusively

Sorry you got owned so badly in Krasarang dude. Guess the blue dragons of the Alliance are just pretty weak IC

So when asked for more specifics, we get that one guy was ganked in one campaign by a rogue.

oof

Hey, I can see me up there!

Nobody over the age of 18 would want to enter a community that harrases people for the slightest note of criticism. They might be loud, but loud is often horrible. They will learn. Give them time. Perroy, contrary what he might think of me, is an ok guy; it’s his lackeys that are uncontrollable when someone disagrees with them.

On a side note, 95% of the playerbase doesn’t even know the forums exist.

There’s a TV show I like called Who’s Line Is It Anyway? And it had a really good improv comedian called Tony Slattery. He disappeared from the public eye around '96 due to issues with drugs, alcohol, and undiagnosed bipolar disorder.

Anyway, he came back and did an interview with the Guardian in April and revealed that he had been abused as a child by a member of the church, and had never told his parents this. A psychiatrist once advised him “bear in mind that some things are so deeply buried there is nothing to be gained by an archaeological dig. Keep it buried”.

Anyway I feel that’s an apt quote to describe the bad blood within the Horde RP community. I don’t think people are going to want to forgive and forget very quickly at all.

I’m not a lecturer, though I do have some TA experience. Weird flex to pull, however, but I’m glad you take pride in your accomplishment lol.

Different strokes I guess. I hope you’re there to praise and yell at them when they graduate as well.

I was reffering to new people who might be interested in joining you guys after reading this forum thread Taxania was concerned about; not the current membership.

I might as well ask since I haven’t seen you pop up in a while, but do you have a blood elf called Alomas by chance?

Don’t call my guildies lackeys

They are my honoured friends + the heart and soul of the PCU + fathers of the realm + I stand by them 100%

The rich just keep getting richer

Ultimately, Boush is correct: old man yells at cloud wanting community back. So long we permit these divides and outright encourage them, things won’t get better.

I think you’re right but that doesn’t make the situation less sad or problematic. It is true that arguing with the RG often just ends up giving them unwanted relevance, as they are far from representing the Horde as a faction, yet your position inevitably reinforces current divisions (even if in a non-conflictive way), where each and every sub-community inevitably just ends up ignoring each other and do their own thing.

edit.
At the same time, this may very well be the best solution for everyone: “people getting to do their own” thing might not be as bad as others make it out to be.

So after your initial snipe of “haha that’s not academics” you say it’s

I can agree to that tbh

Yeah I do I’m happy about it

Ok boomer.
