Yeah but draenei are the root of all evil.

That’s always the problem - there’s some interesting nuance to be had with supporting the Horde vs supporting Sylvanas, what you are willing to fight for etc that can be had with regards to Liadrin, but Very Stable Genius Sanara is the last person I want to bother spending the effort to speak with.

Yawn

“Nobody can defeat me in an argument because I’m just so rational” he yells, to an empty room.

Yes, just yes! that would be amazing! It might just get them to not be massive idiots…who am i kidding it’ll still be the healers fault…

Well, it’s a good thing you can’t strip people of their liberties here. But it’s time to give you a lesson on why the Nightborne joined the Horde! It’s okay to not know, but it’s not okay to exclaim the outrage that you have. So sit down, take a chill pill and learn!

The Nightborne and Blood Elves are both descended from the Highborne from the Old Empire. The Kaldorei only took some of these remaining exiles back a few years ago, very reluctantly, when they wallowed on their knees and said they were wrong. The NB and BE are chad advance scholars, while the NE are just weirdo hippies who get scared when other people have rights. This all came after Tyrande, Malfurion and even Elisande played considerable roles in defeating the Legion, after Azshara et Al. did their thing.

I also mention that both BE and NB have replaced a leader who sided with the Legion over an aim to benefit their people. For especially Elisande, rejecting this would have seen the end of the Nightborne. You could even extend this more widely to the Horde and Garrosh.

In Suramar, throughout the campaign, Tyrande is clear of her thoughts of the people and that she is only there as a stepping stone to defeat the Legion, representing the Alliance in doing so. In contrast, Liadrin shows sympathy and empathy while representing the Horde, and they bond over a common history.

The NE and NB have nothing in common and the NE, not just Tyrande, hate them for it. Thalyssra also remarks that Tyrande and her lot are bad for the Nightborne and I believe that Liadrin says the same about them being bad for the Horde.

There’s also the incident of the questline were they join the Horde and the void-related stuff with the Sunwell. Not a great way to show off the Alliance.

It is the Horde who actively reach out to the Nightborne and invite them to join the Horde. The recruitment scenario quests tell us this. The BE are allying themselves with the NB right the way through the rebellion arc, on Argus and presumably up until Lor’thremar invites them to Silvermoon. This is in sharp contrast to Tyrande and her lunacy.

And let’s not forget they probably heard her calling for Malfurion all the way in Val’sharah and didn’t want her boy drama

And Liadrin shows sympathy towards them during world quests, while Tyrande is like ‘‘hopefully more will take up arms so I dont have to waste my own peoples lives.’’

‘‘The more shal’dorei that take up the fight, the fewer of my people who will be lost in the liberation of Suramar.’’

She seems like someone you’d like to be around more.

Why did Tyrande even show up to ‘‘help’’ when she isn’t even willing to put true effort to the cause. She should’ve done what she does best, cry to Elune like a lil crybaby over Malfurion and be annoying.

She just wanted to blow up the nightwell+kill demons.

That’s it.

And she did neither.

It’s a great quote. Tyrande sees the Nightborne as tools to throw against each other. Liadrin treats them like people

I keep telling 'em. Shandris should have lead the sentinel effort in Suramar instead of picking her nose in the Hunter’s Class hall.

But we can’t have the general of the sentinels actually lead the sentinels into battle, can we? :pensive:

I can understand her not caring for the Nightborne, she seeing them as the Highborne of old and ‘‘traitors’’, but why even come and ‘‘help’’ then? Just stay back and let 'em die if you aren’t even gonna try.

Tyrande should die, and Shandris should become the new Night elven leader. She’s at least likeable…

Shandris entertains the idea of stepping up to lead her people after the war campaign now that Tyrande is AWOL. She wants to join Tyrande and exact vengeance on Sylvanas, but she also acknowledges that her people need guidance right now and she can’t abandon them.

Is Tyrande a Highborne? She was born in Suramar. Shandris, as well, was born in a city as she tells us in Nazjatar.

It seems to me that Nightborne and Kaldorei both are descended from whoever was left after the war. Perhaps the Nightborne have a higher percentage of Highborne blood, as it were, but that’s not supported by the text.

The Nightborne do have quite a few similarities to Night Elves as well, the idea that they’re “nothing alike” is dubious. It doesn’t help that we don’t know what Nightborne Priests are about; do they worship Elune, or something else? Anything else?

All Elves like their shiny white buildings with wide open spaces, and tumbling with cats in a forest. If anything Sin’dorei and Kaldorei have more in common there than with the Nightborne.

And the Night Elves removed Fandral Staghelm for being an Old God fanboy. Again, not really a point that makes them strictly “more similar”… just recurring themes in Blizzard’s writing.

So, the writing makes sense because… it was written.

Well alright, I guess Teldrassil really was a few hundred yards from the shore of Darkshore. After all, it was written that’s the maximum range of demolishers and that’s the distance demolishers fired to burn it. No reason to be critical of the writing when it’s objectively ridiculous! It was written, and that makes it good.

It’s telling that you need really low standards to enjoy the Horde’s story.

No, Tyrande and Genn should kill Sylvanas. Then she’s permitted to die.
Then Shandris can take over. (It seems they’re actually building up towards Shandris taking over as faction leader of the night elves, which would be a huge relief.)

Also while I’m in rant mode, Delaryn Summermoon getting killed was such a waste. Finally, a young, personable night elf character to contrast the perspective of all the old farts.

Oh, look. She’s now a dark ranger.

Welcome to the club. They’ve killed off almost all OG Horde heroes.

The loa of Warchiefs…

Hell yeah she is.

Hope they’re gonna stick with Sylv too.

hey remember how the mystery of why he made sylv warchief was set up well guess what it doesn’t matter now because she’s not warchief anymore so any actual drama or revelations that will come of it are pointless

“oh, X is why I made sylv warchief, I remember now”
“no one cares because she’s gone anyway god damn”
