Disk space for WoW?

Hi,

What is the latest disk space required for wow? I’ve just ordered a new gaming PC and comes with a 120gb SSD and 1tb hard drive, i’d much rather install and dedicate the SSD to wow but just wondering on the size of it after 8.2. My current system is awful and have to run wow on the lowest settings but my new one will allow me to run on max settings as it has the top specs and cost a lot of money.

Thanks for any information.

It;s hard to say since they’ve merged all the versions of WoW into one install (PTR, Retail and Classic)

I think it’s about 40-50GB.

If you’ve got a gaming PC you need more than 120 GB SSD. You’ll get WoW and Windows with very little space left over.

Bfa is like 80gb & i think that Classic gonna be 20-30 max.

116 GB on my computer. I have only BFA, no classic or ptr.

There’s patch issues since Legion. Delete the data folder and let it redownload. I’ll be staggering how much you save. You need to do this every patch.

I suggest a 480Gb Sandisk SSD for your games. They’re £50 on Amazon at the moment.

lol that was my bad. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I actually told the number for the “entertainment” folder on my computer, idk how, I thought I selected only wow.

In any case, I checked again and my wow is 70,8gb which seems more in line with what the others are saying.

for me wow folder before patch was 53 gb after patch 69gb i re downloaded the game now its on 55 gb …

blizzard is lazy removing the trash files

edit if your wow folder is bigger than 60 gb means you have alot of trash from older patches/expansions on your wow folder

It is madness throwing away good money these days on anything less that a 500gb SSD. 120gb is just too small for more than one game, plus your operating system will take up a fair bit of that space.

See, the problem with this theory, at least in my case, is that I only bought the game last august, so I shouldn’t have much of these…historical remnants or idk how else to say it.

I dont understand it myself. Why has this not been fixed. It started in Legion prepatch.

I’ve not yet done it for 6.2 but I’ll do it sooner than later.

as i sayd above only this patch 8.2 gave me more than 10 gb trash files blizzard did alot of changes on wow lately and every patch leaves loads of trash

and i kind of hate re downloading the game every patch hits if they keep adding lots of gb and they dont removing the necessary files

i still have loads of space on my ssd but i dont like the idea for my wow folder gets more than 100gb space due blizzard dind fix that yet
