In my honest opinion, Divine Steed is an important and amazing skill for paladins (makes us less wheelchair), but it just looks bad and feels bad for me personally. Im using cool, fresh, new, high res armors+Taeshalach, then i hop on my Divine Steed ability and the mount looks like a low-res bunch of pixels from the dark past compared to my character.
Is there any chance in the future for that Blizzard may give some love for palys?
It could be some new glyph option or a questline (like the one that gives Hati for hunters both as a pet and as a mount, as a hunter i was happy with that) that gives us some new high-res mount skins for Divine Steed in multiple colors?
It would be amazing. Oooor let us glyph small grounded mounts into that skill. Id be happy to hop on the Flametalon of Alysrazor lol.
That’s a dangerous thing to ask.
Upgrading it to a higher definition look, not bad. But they could just as easily go down the route of - Oh, we’re upgrading the look, let’s change this bit, and that bit, and I never really liked how that bit looked, we’ll change that too.
We could quite easily end up with something that looks nothing like current Paladin mounts or just looks awful.
Priest epic mount being an example, a mount that looks like you ran a Gryphon into SW walls.
Dwarves already got an update. Blood Elves can use one of the Class Mount glyph’s - there’s one that matches the general BElf colour scheme. Same for Humans. So that just leaves Draenei and Tauren - and Lightforged Draenei, who inexplicably use the Draenei Paladin mount despite their own mount looking more “Paladin”. So those two “big guy” Paladin mounts do need updating.
I strongly suspect the OP is just completely unaware that the Divine Steed glyphs from the Class Mount actually exist though. If you skipped Legion it doesn’t take long at all - the only “long” bits are like, 8-10 1-hour Paladin missions and an 8-hour Legionfall mission (all on the mission board). Even if you haven’t done the Suramar stuff, what you need can be done in literally 30-45 minutes (maybe less) at 50. I say this because I literally just did all that on my new Zandalari Paladin, then realized I liked the Zandalari mount better anyway.
Can’t we all just agree that we don’t want Steed of Shame at all?
I would rather have ordinary speed boost that would just leave fiery footsteps (or something like that, maybe some big wings that do powerful swing and speed us up? our element is light, so I guess it’s “kinda” fast and there are many possibilites) rather than triceratops spawning inside my butt.
