Ion hinted, that the Alliance will get some of Horde treatment in near future (I am really sorry guys)…
Alliance don’t have that same division in their ranks just yet
This yet… What do you think will happen, that could divide the alliance?
My thoughts on this:
Anduin refuses to help Tyrande on Darkshore could lead to problems.
But I believe the major plot twist, that will split the alliance is Derek.
While Jaina believes Baine and Derek, that he escaped Sylvanas mind control, someone in Alliance ranks does not. In some chaotic situation Derek will try to assassinate one of the leaders of alliance (let it be Anduin), and an other one (let it be Genn) will kill him to prevent the assassination without any evidence. One of ashvane loyalists let Dereks dagger disappear in the chaotic situation, so Genn stands over Dereks (truely) dead body accusing Derek being a murderer.
Jaina is raged on Genn, Tyrande on Anduin and voila! Sylanas evil master mind planed this twist all the way…
How do you think will Blizzard divide Alliance? Or better:
What would be an interesting and believable way to divide the Alliance?
Really… I’m not expecting anything. That yet held open the door for something to happen in the future, but reading it as foreshadowing is a step too far for me.
At this point it makes no sense whatsoever to divide over the treatment of the Horde. Teldrassil was as unifying an event as could be wished for. If there is going to be a divide I would look towards N’zoth’s activities. The “gift” of N’zoth seems to be a great way to show that there are corrupted old god agents in the factions and trust between the members could erode very fast, when suspicions of their influence come up. Let the Alliance become paranoid about not following the old gods plans and smoking out their tools. And have them accuse each other, and fight over it.
What’s an old god storywithout some interpersonal craziness going on?
Could be that by the time the Old Gods start showing up, the Alliance is divided between those who want to go after the Horde and those who want to stop the Old Gods.
Though I Ion talks about the “same division”, so it could be that people think Anduin is not punishing the Horde as hard as he should.
Tyrande probably. I guess that with her current depiction and the schism it created with Anduin, that’s the avenue they are going to take this story towards.
My money is on the “split” being caused by Anduin releasing Saurfang from captivity. And then we’ll have a divide between those in the Alliance who want to work together with the resistance within the Horde to topple Sylvanas, and those in the Alliance who want to just destroy the Horde altogether.
in all honesty, I think a good way to bring devision in the alliance is to use the already developed Lightbound and light is kind of evil stuff we got with xe ra and the AU drainor plot.
Alot of major alliance people are associated with priests and palidans plus with these new light undead from before the storm it would be a great use of friction.
Can’t really imagine much, I can see tension between Genn and Anduin but only that, I can’t see them splitting.
Tyrande and the Night Elves are in no position to split from the Alliance nor Anduin refusing to help Tyrande unless she does go off the deep end. But if she doesn’t then I can see no plausible reason why there would be division.
Or Saurfang becomes leader and brokers a peace between the factions which most if not all of the Warhawks of the Alliance disagree which could be very possible and I would love to see. There shouldn’t be some let off for the Horde after everything what they have done and if Anduin thinks so then he is naive and the other leaders will take power.
And that would be a conflict between whom? I’d be curious who you would think would stand with the Lightbound and who against. For now I see almost everyone clustering towards Anduin’s position on the Light, including the Grand Exarch of the Lightforged.
Whilst Tyrande makes the most sense for a possible schism, I vaguely remember mention that we’ll be seeing the House of Nobles expressing some sort of dissatisfaction with Anduin. This will result in some disgruntled NPCs, but wont be anything like the conflict we see within the Horde.
"The Stormwind house of nobles is still present, and the writers say that there’s a strong chance the entire city of Stormwind isn’t united behind Anduin. “We’ve got to pick and choose who we focus on,” says Burke. “We’re telling so many stories and there are so many things we’re excited to show.”
(Sorry about the character change - the gobbo above is also my character, but this is the one I have been using here on the rare occasion that I post anything)
