DK Death Coil Self-Healing

I have tried so many different macros, all of which work perfectly in every content except arena, to use Death Coil to heal myself while under the effect of Lichborne. I wondered if the problem was @self macros in arena so I tried actually targeting myself and it still won’t work, but only in arena.

Can someone please explain to me why it won’t work? What am I missing? I even contacted support and was literally told that you folks on the forums would know better (because that’s how bad Blizzard’s customer support has gotten).

you got a solid advice and have better chance asking death knights in the game by /who death knight 70, thats how people did old days when they want contact specific x

i dont think the customer support is someone who plays the game or even if did it isnt likely his some guru who plays every spec in the game or has knowledge, maybe only in the golden era of wow :joy:

i miss old gms aswell from the game they were good

go in game do /who death knight 70 and copy pasta them some polite and short inquiry related on your matter, some will know eventually, more people in game anyway than there is active users in forums

I contacted support more hoping that they might be able to say something along the lines of “yeah, you can’t do that in arena” or whatever…

I’ve tried asking in General chat but to no avail so far, I’ll try your suggestion though, thanks for the response :slight_smile:

yea thats what ppl did when wanted find or contact some x for some reason x, you paste some line for ppl through doing /who class (insert level) “hi would you like to come scholomance we can summon” i see no reason why couldnt use the same method and ask people advice related their class, good luck!

Asking since you didnt rly say what youve tried, just “so many different macros” xd
Since I know that type of macro works for alot of things even inside arena.
If it doesnt work then you can just hope and pray someone else knows something.

This was the very first attempt yeah, @player, @Marrowghast (character’s name) work too, except in arena. Current version I was sure would work:

#showtooltip Death Coil
/cast Lichborne
/target Marrowghast
/cast Death Coil
/targetlasttarget

…again works everywhere, including BGs, except arena. “Invalid target” is what gets thrown back. At this point I’m fairly sure it’s not a macro issue, hence contacting support :slight_smile:

U can either press death coil without targeting something under the effect of Lichborne

…and it should self cast heal yeah, but you’ve always got something targeted in arena :confused:

It’s literally as though it doesn’t work for heals inside arena, but I can’t find any mention of this anywhere…

Yeah but that only works 'til you get hit again and then you auto-target the attacker. I appreciate your input though :slight_smile:

This is what I’ve always used and worked in arena.

Also, arenas are fast and maybe you didn’t notice - you must have enough runic power ofc

The guy above seems to be correct . It works great that way ( at least in skirmishes)

I see 2 reasons why it might have failed for the OP:

  • no ! used for Lichborne, so if you mash the button it cancels it the second keypress
  • not enough RP

I really appreciate all the responses folks, but it simply isn’t working for me…

The “!” is there I just forgot to type it out when responding, and I know I have enough RP when I try use it because it’s set to show Death Coil, so is greyed-out until enough RP has been acquired. I can press it multiple times to heal during Lichborne when on the dummies so long as I have the RP or gain more, but in arena “invalid target” every time :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

EDIT: It does work in Skirmishes, just checked

have u tried the [@urcharactername] instead of [@self]?

Yeah I’ve tried that Powerfan, but thanks all the same :slight_smile:
I’ve just checked and the macro works fine in skirmishes weirdly, not content I tend to bother with so wasn’t sure. So rated arena seems to be where it breaks.

thats definitely needs to be taken to a support BUT they won’t do anything and will pin point u at the bug tracker where it either lies in a rubbish for the rest of DF or gets fixed at the end of DF
because this bug is nowhere near the "i pick a pvp talent yet it doesnt work AT ALL because u deleted the said pvp talent from another spec(feral) yet it seems u’ve also removed the code from the balance tree as well) bug which wasnt fixed for the entirety of BFA

@self doesn’t work. @player does work, might even work with player0 , or you can manually type your name but you won’t be able to put in targetlasttarget

I can’t log my DK to copy and paste it over but what Mewithoutyou said was spot on pretty much
It gets even more fun if you want to heal your Skeleton Archer minion lol

targetlasttarget was only in the version where I was trying it by actually targeting my character as part of the macro :slight_smile:
I’ve changed it to exactly what Mewithoutyou posted and it worked in skirmish so currently queued for solo shuffle, where I’m fairly sure I’ve had the same issue! I’ve used this version before though …
