I don’t know for EU dks but Petkick doesnt seem to have a problem getting R1 in 3s last seasons, maybe US ladder works different.

theres a super simple answer for DK
talent to choose AMS or APS (anti physical shell)
u give dk an absorb for phys dmg and all of a sudden it can choose to not die like butter to warriors hunters windwalkers and ferals
and an option to make IBF half its CD without stun immunity
these are the worlds easiest things to add to completely make the class viable

85% of dks IBF to remove a stun then got nothing to press and die to raw pve dmg gutting
Simply make plate armor scale normally for PvP to its 100% value and remove the artificial 30% penalty for plate users. That change was implemented at df s4 due to stat inflation. It seems they “forgot” it at the start of TWW. No problem to make armor scale less at pvp when it reaches tank numbers though.
Sad but true… Both dks got problems. removing cc and lower the deffs make them steps back. comper to other class that they didn’t remove cc or make choices between 2 cc. Unholy is cds damage profile because the sustain damage is hard to keep the stucks (death rot that need like 10 death coil!!, woods, fester might) when you get trained. And when you swap target you need to build damage again.

That’s true, but there’s still a big design problem in the class, where several expansions are mixed together and poorly adapted.
Example: the ghoul’s stun was reduced in Legion > it made sense in Legion and BFA because the number of spells and CC had been reduced, but it doesn’t make sense anymore.
Same goes for the grip in GCD; it may have made sense in Legion and BFA, but now it doesn’t make sense anymore.
The damage profile with Festering Wounds is also well outdated. The target switching of the UH DK is bad. The class can’t be meta-tiered because of that, especially in an expansion like TWW.
But yes, the big problem is mainly its survival. Otherwise, they can overtune the survival and damage, but the class design will still not be good.
I think its more than this tbh especially in shuffle you just get to a certain point where even a caster can just pop burst and go through ams and kill the dk outright because they have to W key at the target and have no way to get out because they can still be rooted and reduced to 70% movement speed while on horse.
and the IBF problem is on DK you must go on your cds because the class does negative damage outside of it no other meele really has this problem you have a 45 sec cd go that does the same ammount of single target damage as a ferals 20 second maim go and need a 2 min cd to do the same ammount of damage as a random 45 sec cd on most meeles.
It seems like they are doing a lot of damage on details but its just because its pad damage even ret does more single target damage and it has all the utility and immunities would like to see them redesign necrotic wounds now that it does not heal you there is no reason for it to be on a 15 second window that does not refresh if that was the case you would probably actually be able to rot people down with dk while keeping its defensives the same.
problem is AMS doesnt absorb sh!t right now. its only good for preventing cc
It should just not get weaker with dampening its fine to have a class be a caster counter and be weak to meele but right now you just get dampened by casters and meele is a counter anyway 0 reason to have everything in the game counter you for example you can chase a frost mage and lose that fight after a certain ammount of dampening when you should be there to keep them in check.
affected by dampening should be okayish but they nerfed it to 75% effectiveness in pvp
Because it should not be a straight up immunity at the start of the game … its on a 45 second cd with the hero talent to get a 2nd charge 30 seconds with a pvp talent the goal is to not make them immortal vs casters the base AMS without dampening is fine.
It’s also a (almost funny) thing, because almost all the DK spells are nerfed in PvP
Enhancement Shaman is the worst spec in PvP right now
In DPS for spec, yes (and really not far behind DK), but DK is still the last to overwall, because he can’t play Frost/Blood/Uh.
The shaman can still play Element or Heal.
