Hello all

Im thinking alt Death Knight cause i like plate and the Frost spec.
My main question is. As DK dps (frost or unholy) is good PvE class for Raid and Mythic Dungeons?

Frost is way too aids, unholy boring with the 10min ramp up before actual dpsing

Its just bad, im happy that I dont have to do anything with my dk anymore. Dead game.

I would never invite a dk dps into my mythic+ group.

In raids is frost one of the top dps.

M+ is different story. If you want pug than dont go dk. If you have friends for pushing keys than it can work.
But people on highest keys play unholy instead of frost.

Dk is very viable in PvE id say. As unholy with ilvl 360 im mostly top dps in m+. The aoe is insane and ST isnt too shabby either. I pull 10-13k dps on ST boss fights and 20k+ on aoe trash, 40k+ isnt unusual.

Outbreak > unholy frenzy > death n decay > spam claw of shadows until out of Runes > spam epidemic and watch everything die.
Next pack if death n decay is on cd pull apoc and Pet cd and still do good dps.

For blood spec i dont think i have to say anything, its viable for sure.

Frost idk, never liked it and I dont play it. But its the mainstream dps spec for dk’s and ive grouped with some who do really good dps.

We also bring some really good utility like grip, combat ress, slows, 4 sec stun if specced, range silence on a short cd. We got self heals with DS and death pact if specced and we can absorb magic dmg which makes life easier for the healer. Control undead is also nice in atal and underrot.

IMO if you refuse to invite a unholy dk to your group because you think they suck then you should reconsider…

Look up MFWest on Youtube, he does some really good unholy dk videos to get you started.

Don’t get what you guys are on about frost being bad for mythic+. I always top the meters as frost. You just probably don’t know how to play properly. Also check noggas stream out if you want to improve.

Well its not like frost/UH is bad, but everything else is better. In m+ if u take meele u either get DH or rog no reason to pick dk. Pretty much the same in raids, theres just no reason to pick dk unless u rly need that single grip.

I see someone mentioning nogga, but u should kinda realise that hes playing with rly good group that knows how to play around dk. That would never happen in pug.

In 8.1 if u can get 3x festerming trait for UH than even pugg will consider inviting dk deeps.

You want to play with Bursting Sores and Pestilence in M+ and do big pulls.

Cannot find the exact video, but in the M+ finals~ there was a DK in motherlode that pulled 350k on a 20+ mob pulls and wiped them out in seconds.

Again, he had 3x festermight which is almost impossible to get on life, considering that only head drops from raid (ghun) and the rest u have to get from m+ chest. + the bis trinks from m+ too…
And this tact can only works in pulls like mother, TD where u got small adds mixed with big

Hey guys its me Kerverus who i did the post an for some reason i cant reply with that character. As you see i have this DK and im leveling as Blood. So far i like this spec… its so tanky without any problem with quests…

As for warrior has good AoE but single target its not so strong. So witch spec is strong with DK for single target Frost or Unholy. For blood i know is viable for sure :stuck_out_tongue:

Frost has probably the highest ST burst in the game, but after breath u do nothing. UH pretty much the same, after army ends u do nothing on ST. if u look at cd of army and breath u can see urself which is better.

As you say the specs are same dmg then i’ll pick as frost. Its my favorite too so far . I enjoy its animation and the rotation.

thank god unholy is good in m+ and garbage in all other game mods, viva la m+ farming.

Personally it doesn’t matter if frost is good or bad numerically when mechanically it’s just awful. Having the entire spec balanced around one ability/talent is in my opinion an extremely flawed design and I hope we see some changes soon.

I wouldn’t mind them buffing UH over Frost. As many have said them designing spec around a spell is poor design. UH needs to be fixed away from old combo point system as ferals and rogues have. It’s a shame to see both DPS specs play this bad. Unfortunately hunters needed their 3rd viable spec before DK’s needed one DPS spec that feels good to play. Apparently.
