Do Addons really lower FPS?

Hi, I like to use Elvui addon but recently I would like to increase my fps a little bit more so I tried to turn Elvui off as far as its the addon that consumes the biggest amount of memory. After switching it off and staying in the same place with my character, the fps keeps in the same value. How is that possible?

The (wannabe)logical layman answer would be that memory isn’t that important for fps, unless there’s too little of it.

Alternatively, I heard that getting rid of the beard at the barber improves fps.

Same addons can affect your FPS if they are out of date or corrupted .For example Weak Auras has had problems in the past were it has affected FPS but has been quick to update and mend.

^ Pretty much this. Some addons can affect FPS but that does not mean that they all do. All addons use memory, but as Looksmaxxed states above, it would only affect your FPS if your rig does not have much memory or the memory itself is slow, which unless you are running WoW on a potato is unlikely.

That ram stick looks like its been installed wrong - it would need to go longways down the potato so its actually touching the connectors

Sort this out and it may fix the issue with addons lowering FPS!
