From what I understand, they don’t ‘eat’ as much as they absorb the element they belong to. You can ‘feed’ a fire elemental the same way you kindle a fire. I assume the same can be said for other elemental types. The purer base element you feed them, the more “nutrition” they can take from it.

Oh stone giants eat something alright. There’s a quest chain in Azshara about collecting Azsharite which turns out to be stone giant poop.
Depends on the fantasy world? In D&D, elementals basically “eat” their respective element, so I’d assume it works similar in WoW?
Earth elementals eat earth, fire elementals eat burning trees, and so on. Then again, Gallywix did have a gold elemental and if that one was literally eating gold, I’m sure he wouldn’t have kept him.
Define food. It’s different to different things.
Energies of different types would be food to them.
Where as physical things like bread etc would be food to any species with a more physical form.
So yes, they do eat, but they eat energies.
That’s because Ragnaros’ is vegetarian. By fiber be purged

They don’t have the organs for eating food, so they can’t.
They dont need to eat. They have no organs. I think they just suck mana (or arcane energy) from the air around them.
