Been away for quite a while and just got back into the game, oh how its changed. My account says I am on legion so do I have to purchase BFA before I then purchase Shadowlands?

If you wait until Shadowlands launches you can just buy that and play

I think you can also buy Shadowlands now, get 30 days free and start playing already, level cap is at 50 eitherway atm, you could play zones and stories you’ve never done but would’ve liked doing, earn achievements and gold before Shadowlands hits and then just play that right away when it launches.
BFA is now included in your subscription, it changed when the prepatch launched.
