Do i7-8750H CPUs cause issues in WoW?

I’m considering upgrading my laptop and while browsing the offerings, I’ve noticed that most of the newer ones use the new i7-8750H CPUs, which have 6 cores but a base clock speed of only 2.2 GHz

With WoW being as CPU-reliant as it is, I’m wondering whether this low clock speed is likely to cause issues.
Does anyone here have experience with this?

A general note on clock speeds.

While higher clock speed means a processor gets more stuff done in the same period there’s other factors to consider.

Intel tend to redo how their processors work every other generation so they could do more each clock cycle. Caching can be improved much more. Cache is superfast memory located on the processor; it’s much faster reading from cache than it is from memory located on the motherboard.

If you run DX12 it now uses your graphics card for some processing so it’s less reliant on your CPU speed too.

A good thing to also remember is that there’s no point going for high fps if your monitor has a lower refresh rate. There’s no need for 100fps if your monitor only supports 60 max for example. Save on the electricity.

No issues here with that processor.
Mostly stable 60fps (locked on 60fps).
Settings at 7 with shadows on good and view distance, ground clutter and the 3rd thing on 5.
I have a GTX 1050 4GB card to go with it and 50-55 fps in Boralus.

Check benchmarks for it. Its quite solid.

I cant think of a single reason that would cause a problem.

What are your other parts and what settings are you?

Because that should run it just fine.

But if you’re also running intergrated graphics and trying to get a 10 you’re gonna have a bad time.

It’s the same CPU my laptop has - paired with a 1060 in my case.

Runs fine. Good FPS all day long.

The my resource monitor regularly shows my CPU boosting up to near 4 Ghz

If you really care about performance, don’t buy a laptop.
