Do new players have a chance? at mage tower!

Maybe you should focus more on the MT instead of crying on forums?

Do you realize its scaled down in the Mage tower?

Incorrect, enchants and gems do not exactly ‘scale down’ in the mage tower very much. Especially when the Average player isn’t decked out in socketed + enchanted gear.

The fact that it makes 30-40% difference doing such things this time around tells me it’s all about gear, enchants, and consumes rather than being more skill based like people try to claim.

Do you have actual proof of this 30-40 % increase of having shadowlands gems and enchants?

Yes, you see you do the MT without such things - like in heirloom gear and then you do it with gems, enchants, and consumes and you will see a 30-40% increase to your stats along with an increase in your DPS.

Funny, i heard that lower baseline items actually better than the SL items.

Also many older expansion enchants and trinkets all better for MT.

Some already nerfed tho (like crusader).

Some, the ones with more gem enchants and the ones with higher stat weights. SL gear with sockets are still better than regular gear like heirlooms especially without sockets.

I don’t think less than 30 % increase in stats would have more than 30 % increase in performance.

Back to your point: any casual should be able to use consumables and enchants and even have a socket or two in their gear.

Probably because it’s a freak game.

Absolutely everything that isn’t Mythic content is a complete and utter faceroll unfunny joke. That’s the expectation of anything, because that’s the content ‘for everyone’.

That hideous term ‘accessability’. Just because one buys a game it doesn’t mean they should have easy obtainables.

Personally I never bothered with Mage Towers, simply because I am not invested enough and don’t have the patience or commitment to completing it. I don’t expect them to nerf it on my account.

Not the case, check the AH on many servers. Enchants, consumables, all through the roof. No, I shouldn’t expect to have all my gear enchants, gemmed, etc for ‘scaled’ content.

I did bother with it and it’s some overtuned garbage now.

Just to show Pickpawkit that it is possible without grinding gear and 250 ilvl. This is my freshly dinged mage. Granted the fire mage challenge was kinda easy, but I think the point still stands.

Did it on my mistweaver with full SL gear + SL consumes, was very tight on last boss but definitely doable. Did watch some video of a guy with full TW gear and he had massively more dps and hps than my character though.

I play on draenor and I haven’t seen the price of normal consumables increase recently. Older ones yes for the people that want to cheese it further but I don’t think those are needed. At least not from what I’ve heard.

You are delusional if you think WoW or any other MMORPG is “Enjoyment”

The genre is fun for sure, But without proper time commitment, you won’t find any actual enjoyment here.

Maybe the people in your scenario would be better off trying some plug & Play games, Like the Moba or FPS genre.

Fire was easy (but on the other hand, Fire mages are much more squishier now than in Legion), Frost was tuned hard, but doable if you play good (and I did it after I have learned all the changes they put into the encounter compared to Legion), but Arcane is just bad with all the changes in it.

they remove all socket from PANDARIA working in MT thanks to exploiters

A lot is probably about gear. I have been looking at someone doing it with my spec, but he is killing everything in way less abilities than i am doing. Also he is showing his stats in the video in the top of the video and he seems to have way more than i have  And this guy made the challenge with maybe 1 second left to survive.

It seems to be a big mistake to go in with my SL gear.
