that when you’re setting up a group and eager to get off to that M+ or raid, that you slow down the application process of the group just so you can play 20 questions with people to find out whether they’ve bought a shop mog with shop money instead of a rolling sub, thinking this is effective (they can just lie), and also thinking this represents something of a noble stance regarding the horrors of corporate greed when you can’t even recognise how paying more money for a cosmetic mog is precisely the same principle as paying more for cosmetic features in an expo release (which you yourself did).
Just wow. Reminds me of those “forum heroes” who were all “imma gonna kick anyone who rolls mechagnome lolol”. If it makes you happy, you do you, but concede it makes you look like an absolute plank at the same time, contrary to appearing “edgey or principled”.
Nothing is gonna think “good on that dorf for standing up against corporate greed” they’re going to think “they’re an idiot”, as may your groupmates who now have to wait longer. Unless you’re going to kick those who don’t mind having the mog-wearers in the group?
I mean how far does this chain go? You won’t group with people who payed, but will those who got it for the 6 month roller. Would you group with people who support those who have the mog and bought it even if they don’t? Seeing as your point is about the principle, not ownership of the item?

People also have the option to grind gold in game and convert to balance to buy, so you can treat it like a vendor item tbh.
It’s not something I would have bought myself, I think it’s hilariously awful but because I am six monthly subber, it just appears.

I usually keep a 6 month sub going UNLESS I don’t want to play the game for months. I came back for SL after leaving in Nov 2019 for a break (I hate all of BFA.) People really shouldn’t complain about what you get for free if you leave an active sub rolling.
I have, their stores are garbage selling all kinds of boost. I prefer it the WoW way with cosmetics only.
honestly given up on farming. As soon as I reach more farm attempts than polygons in the item, it’s not worth it anymore

You should be getting everything in game “for free” if you have sub going, not some people getting it “for free”, while others who sub dont.

I agree. 6 months subbed = reward.
Just stop caring about it. When i ran it with my paladin i was like “yeah this is not going to work. I parked him for two entire xpacs after stopping to farm. Like what are the odds HE gets it now…oh hi mark”
My rogue completely takes the cake when it comes to Mimis head however

I don’t use any addon that tells me how many attempts, I find they put me off, or worse they tell me I’m unlucky or very unlucky. I’m just gonna do my farm until it drops

They could have been super greedy and made it so everyone had to pay for it. I just checked my battle net app and the thing was there waiting for me to claim it, it’s good that its free to some.
Many games make you buy everything and even go as far as selling gameplay advantage options (pay to win.)

Yeah first run I did, I got mimi 
I didn’t even notice at start, so there was a guild message about something and people said gz, so I said gz along with them… Turns out it was my mount

Sure its better than having pay only, but still pretty greedy to have extra items on top of sub and expansions.
