Don’t try to argue with him, it’s a windmill fight. Typical “I’m right and everyone else is wrong, because I said so” , tries to back up his seriousness with fancy words he found in an old oxford dictionary under the bed which was put in there to keep it balanced.
Because they said they would. Regarding a specific addon, OmniCD, tgey said they will remove it and only add their alternarive if they decide that players need it. I do not trust their judgement on what players need, especially regarding M+, as Blizzard have proven time and again to be tonedeaf regardomg that content.

there is nothing wrong with that but its not good.
let me give you some example.
i started this game almsot when it came out.
i was playing it for god knows how many years,
i had so many many stories-memories- and so much nostalgia and advantures and good things about those years,
i was game master in 4 private servers.
later i made a private game server for my self .
i did almost everything that you can do in this game during these years,
BUT still i dont go back to play classic and experience those good memories or whatever you call it in 2025 just because they were good. instead i try to find better things with everything modern in them.
thats why its so weird to me that we even have classic servers in 2025-2026.
atleast if it was legion yes but the classic classic? mist of pandaria?

you know i had these fights in the forums for a long time .
after i a while i found out my energy and time is not limitless and so i started to perma ignore and report whoever that is trying to fight me and destroy topics with fighting other people. i think you should put whoever is doing that to you on perma ignore and report and move on. Believe me , no one can fight and destroy those people like me but even i got tired.
that worgen here said something wise a while ago , not every Battle worths fighting even if you win

Depends on the player’s default awareness and skills, I’d say. Perhaps even on how fast they process information (without it being meant judgmental).
I had some in-game bugs I tried to eliminate by disabling all my addons for like a week. +10s were not really an issue in any shape or form. Addons help, sure. They make it easier to absorb the information you need. But it’s by no means a must. Much higher…well…the mechanics stay the same, but what your teammates do is more important to be aware of, then it gets tricky.
I assume that in raids it’s no different. I’m sure up till some bosses in HC you can freestyle it without any addons. Beyond that point it becomes player-depending.

And that’s fine, it’s your preference and it doesn’t impact anyone else. But it’s also fine for people that enjoy the playstyle of Classic to have a way to play it without it impacting anyone else.
I still play games from the Atari 2600 emulated on my PC from time to time. There is nothing wrong with it.

Addons that are out of combat are fine, and sometimes really good. They have barely any impact too. For example Mythic Dungeon Tools is not automating anything or any thought process, it’s simply good to help you prepare and strategize a run before playing it. Plater on the other hand gives you too much information imo like coloring the nameplate of certain mobs. OmniCDs is also too much information, because in the end, it’s not good that we are omniscient about the abilities of others, and I honestly have the suspicion that it makes people that are “semi-hardcore” play worse, as they often don’t have the basics down imo and shouldn’t even see the cooldowns of other players too. Removing OmniCD is something that naturally increases skill ceiling and decreases skill floor, which both are good imo.

I also like that you single out Hekili when that is the first addon they are actually adding to the game with next reset. Seems Blizzard sees no issue with it, do they?

Plater fixes Blizzards UI elements that are horendeous in conveing their information like which mobs you need to re-dot or highlights the group killer abilities that you need to stop. Why do we need it? Because its not skill to tab and try to find the 1 mob out of 20 that is casting Fireball volley and not Fireball.
Why OmniCD is needed? Because no one here is telepath and knows when you are going to use your interrupt or CC.
Let me share the story of the mage that didn’t use OmniCD. I was in a Mothelode, at the 2 big mechs before last boss, our healer died to bombs, I CR-ed him but he insta died again because didnt wait for tje big AoE to ho away before accepting, we wiped. Our mage then decided to blame me for that and left because apperantly I didn’t use LoH (was on CD) and I didn’t use a CR (again used it, healer died instantly).
We should try out the one button rotation and see how far we can go.
But that’s the problem. If you play tank without addons, it’s literally unplayable. Have you tried playing Priory as a tank without Plater? That’s terrible, and it shouldn’t be like this, that the game is almost unplayable for certain roles, if you don’t use addons

No, I dont play tank. However thats what I am saying, that Blizzards base UI is horrible at providing the information properly. Its not that you cannot see the Volley casr among the Bolt casts, its that its a horendous experience. And I will repeat this for the 100th time, there is no reason to believe Blizzard will adress the issue properly when they remove the addon functionality. What will most likely happen is that they will dissable Plater, fail misserably to try and replicate it and then give up and just dumb down the dungeons.
