Do people from US play on EU ?

Hi there,

As the title says, do people from US region play on EU region realms ?

If so, how do you manage to raid or do dungeons, when pretty much most of the population is sleeping ? … Or do you stay up late or get up early, for those stuff ?

I’m wondering about that, because I may need to go to US for few years duo work and stuff, but want to keep playing and such …

Getting US region copy isn’t the problem, and leveling is easy, since you get boost, the problem is, getting all the mounts and mogs over again …

I play also on US. I never get tired of leveling and doing the same stuff all over again. I made a US account for a way for me to start all over again. I don’t notice the ms difference either.

Interesting, I’m leveling another character and I’m kinda bored, because I have done that zone already 2 times back in the past, I guess different people with different taste

oddly enough a lot of people do.

Well you can also play on EU servers from there. If you are on East coast latency should not be really issue.

I never said anything about latency

I play from Asia at the moment, faces the same problem with time difference (also have latency issues). The first thought is to find a daytime raiding guild but they are few and far between. So I’m just casual for the time being, not interested in two subs, or playing on server where they speak Korean or Chinese. Can always explore other parts of the game than raiding, WoW wont go anywhere anytime soon, there will always be raids waiting for you.

I am blind. Don’t worry about that you can easily find guild that suits your raiding times. You have plenty of late night raiding guilds if you plan to play from US on EU realms.

Without a doubt, not everyone has a schedule that prevents them even with the time zone differences.

Same for EU and US, in fact I even have a US trial account that I log on now and again, thinking of upgrading it but not sure yet.

The only thing you DO need to worry about is your PING and MS because of the distances around the world to server locations.

It is possible, but I have no insight as to how prevalent it is.

One thing to bear in mind, on a cross-region basis - Beta Realms are based in the US.

Live in Florida, still using my EU account from before I moved. Time difference is a huge factor, due to being 5 hours behind. When I finish work at around 5 ish eastern time it’s roughly 11 pm UK time before I even think of booting up wow. So raiding or any other form of dedicated gameplay in wow is negligible. It’s why I lfr in current and farm mogs in previous expansions on higher (sic) outside of current. It also explains why I was bloody annoyed they put the end of rescuing Jaina in a mythic dungeon. Latency can be an issue, I’m never below 100 but it doesn’t seem to be a major issue.

I am from the US and I play on an EU region because my real life wife is in the UK, so I made a character on the EU realms.

On my horde alt I am in a guild that is mostly EU based and to be honest I have not had a problem raiding or during dungeons with them, of course we are a casual guild and there are people on at all hours.

yes i know people from us who have been playing on eu servers for years. if you dont mind the latency, and you dont work too late, it should be easy to get into guilds that raid in the window of 7pm - midnight uk time.
